Just fought running battles with Dell after upgrading to Windows 10 half of my stuff got lost in the shuffle of someones affections. Took the better part of yesterday but it looks like all is now OK. Like 10 better than 8 but the next time I get a computer I'm going to be a Bolshevik and get a MAC.

...lol, again, OK, whatever you say.

...but again, you're speaking from ignorance, tote. My comment was about "WINDOWS" which is an operating system and has nothing to do with PCs vs Macs. In fact, there are many people who have integrated different versions of windows into a Mac.

...sorry, but you're speaking out of blind hatred. If you really want to pursue this further, be my guest...but it's an argument that neither of us will win or lose...it's simple a matter of preference.

Ron I've used them all, macs, PCs and others. MacOS, Windows, all flavors of Linux kernels. The apple cult drank the Kool-aid and propagates a tremendous amount of shit about their superiority. I have never seen a Mac/MacOS computer able to clock faster than a Windows PC or Linux box. I've seen Macs crash as much as PCs and they are very hackable.

Macs can only thrive in a Mac only environment. Since my computing needs have required all tools deployed, Mac presence was massively disruptive. By design, BTW, they are engineering to bias towards a conformity environment.

I get you like your Mac, have fun with it. But I can get better performance at a fraction of the cost and the system can modded to my needs, not some marketing dept.

...sorry, but you are wrong again...the Windows OS is not exclusive to PCs, not by any stretch of the imagination...if you'd actually take the time to check you'd know that a Mac actually runs Windows quite well.

...you keep confusing two different operating systems with two different computer builds...big difference...I get you like your PC...enjoy it.

...and I've tried them all as well...and IMO, as per usual, you get what you pay for.

Never said Win was exclusive to PC. MacOS limited to Apple boxes due to the awful software architecture. Really, I'm not confused at all - I've built clustered networks of cpu/gpu machines for crystallography and computational chemistry applications (3D drug design). And I've had a Mac running MacOS, Windows and Linux running on the same machine. I really don't care what "brand" its a matter of picking the right tool for the job. Macs have their uses...just not the best fit for high end computing. And sorry, Mac/Win sucks compared to PC/Win. I've lived through a boss that blew 12 grand on a custom mac to see it get destroyed (literally on fire) doing a computation test vs a 4k custom PC. He was a mac-freak that returned it and bought 2 more of the 4k PC's, lol! Mac does a much better job emulating Linux kernels...especially using Parallels. But even then, can't keep up with a dedicated Linux box. Mac's do best with MacOS, period. No hate, just facts.

...lol...really?...then wtf does this quote of yours mean? : "Macs can only thrive in a Mac only environment." Sorry, but Windows 10 for example, is not a Mac "environment".

...at least I'm glad you at least now admit it's all about "picking the right tool for the job". WTF does "high end computing" have to do with this topic?...You're taking this discussion into a totally unnecessary direction.

    ...
Tote, we're talking about Rick and his ongoing computer issues. He could give 2 shits about clocking/over clocking, running multiple programs at one time, high performance graphics, etc. He obviously needs something simple that's ultra low maintenance with no freaking drivers to install, no monotonous and annoying updates, no defragging, etc... for those reasons a Mac is not only the best option for me personally, IMO, I also think it would be a better option for Rick and those like him.
