I would love to dump a contract for Rondo. He'd be gone after next year, seems like a low risk, high reward deal.
Dude has been a cancer on every team he has ever been on. The only time he worked well he was playing with 2 or 3 hall of famers who could keep him in check.
This is about dumping a contract, not the addition of Rondo. I don't think he could play worse than Napier, Turner, or Leonard, though.
Rondo should be beasting with that Bulls roster, he should have put the Kings in the playoffs....how he'd improve us doesn't compute
Pass. There are plenty of ways to move a contract. This isn't one that would add squat to the Blazers' long term success.
Why would the Bulls dump an expiring contract for a longer contract? They could simply release him and not have to pay him longer than this year. They'll have cap-space next year, why jeopardize it? Bringing Rondo here would be a mistake.
You're right, but they could dump him and a lottery protected 1st to some place like Brooklyn. That $13M in savings while giving up a draft pick is a lot better option than taking on Turners or Leonards contract. (Although, they could use Leonard as a backup C who could shoot). I'd trade Leonard for Rondo only if we get a first round pick back and release Rondo or re-trade him immediately.
Rondo's not even a good player anymore. I'd love to have the Rondo of 7 years ago, spacing be damned. The Rondo of today can no longer play defense and still can't shoot. He no longer has an otherworldly Assist Rate. He's an ex-star who's aged particularly poorly. He's basically a "no reward" player at this stage of his career.
