2010 will be a very interesting year for the NBA. Rubio is probably one of the most talked about European prospects in recent times. The draft class next year IMO will be better. 2010 is also the year where all the star free agents will be up for grabs.

    Imagine this scenario:

The Knicks bomb next season, finish with the #1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, pick Rubio and sign LeBron and Bosh in the summer. It could ACTUALLY HAPPEN. That team would flat-out dominate, especially with all the desperate vets they would pick up with the minimum and MLE.

Of course, I'm assuming that the Knicks have their 2010 pick...I'm too lazy to check.

I see...it's top 22 protected this year. If they finish 7th in the league, they have a shot!

Yeah, the mythical Knicks pick is unprotected next year :) Too bad Rubio isn't a need, maybe Blake Griffin or Greg Monroe will stay in school 1 more year and Knicks continue to be sub-par.

Monroe might stay in school...but Griffin? he's pretty much a lock as the #1 overall in this weaker draft class. The only way he stays a year is because of an injury that takes him out of enough games that would drop him out of NBA team's favor...in that case he might return to prove he's better and improve his draft status again.

But as of right now....Blake has no reason to return...and with it looking like Oklahoma is tanking to get the best shot at drafting thier hometown hero...it's more likely he'll leave this year
