    TORONTO (Ticker) -- Michael Bishop threw for 273 yards andthree touchdowns as the Toronto Argonauts posted a 48-15 victoryover the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.


    Bishop completed 18-of-23 passes and tossed two interceptions,and the defense forced nine turnovers for Toronto (2-1), whichwon its seventh straight home meeting with Calgary.

    Bishop threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Andre Talbot at the7:33 mark of the first period to give the Argonauts a 7-0 lead.His third TD pass, a 14-yard toss to Arland Bruce III with 1:27left in the half, gave Toronto a 27-0 halftime bulge.

    Safety Orlondo Steinauer had three interceptions and linebackerKevin Eiben picked off a pass and had two fumble recoveries forthe Argonauts, whose defense did not allow a TD for the secondstraight game. Thirty-eight of Toronto's points were a resultof turnovers by Calgary.


    Bishop left the game with an undisclosed injury early in thethird quarter after a scramble to the Stampeders' 1-yard line.He was taken to a local hospital for further examination and wasreplaced by backup Mike McMahon, who was 6-of-13 for 88 yards,a touchdown and two interceptions.


    Henry Burris (13-of-27, 164 yards) and backup Akili Smith(6-of-10, 68 yards) combined to throw five interceptions forCalgary (1-2), which was crushed for the second straight game.The Stampeders lost, 49-8, to the Saskatchewan Roughriders lastSunday.
