<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'>Michael Vick is one of the most exciting runners in the NFL today. In fact, he may be the most elusive runner since Barry Sanders. Michael Vick has one of the strongest arms in the NFL. Big deal. Arm strength is overrated. Ask Jim Druckenmiller what he's doing these days. A quarterback needs to be accurate with his passes.

Michael Vick has NEVER broken the 3,000 yard passing mark in any of his four seasons. Vick has NEVER thrown more than 16 touchdown passes in any of his four seasons. Vick has only completed more than 55% of his passes once in his four seasons. (Last year, he completed 56.4% of his passes. woohoo.) Vick hasn't thrown for more than three hundred yards in one game since 2002 against the Lions and that was his only three hundred yard game that season. Vick and Jay Fiedler have the same career passing rate of 76.9. There will be arguements that Vick makes up for his passing with his feet. I say he's supposed to be a quarterback, not a halfback, so when he starts averaging 250 rushing yards a game then we'll talk.

The TRUTH is that when a team, like the Eagles, shuts down Vick's running game, he isn't a good enough passer to help win a ball game. The TRUTH is that Michael Vick has had enough time in the NFL to become a decent passer, but has failed to do so. The TRUTH is that Michael Vick is Kordell Stewart with better running skills. The TRUTH is that I've grown weary of arguing with people who do not have ears to hear or eyes to see that the art of Quarterback is more than being able to heave a football eighty yards downfield. What does it profit a Falcons organization to start a halfback at quarterback and forfeit a legitimate passing attack? Heed my words, Vick-o-lytes! Turn now from this false idol and rebuke Coach Mora for leading the Falcons into the wilderness. Tell the godfathers of football industry, that pimp Michael Vick at every turn, that you will not bow before their golden calf or buy Vick replica jerseys. Tell the whores of media, who spread the heresy of Vick like herpes symplex three, that you want to remain clean and free of Vick facing 3rd down and long. There will be unbelievers who will try to dispute my inspired words. I shake them off my feet like dust. So sayeth DolfanDale!</div>
Amen to this. I still think he'll come around and bea topQB though.

    Where? The CFL? Arena2?</p>

Ironically, He might (if memory serves) have been a better QB @ Va Tech.</p>

Sadly, I thought Marcus had more potential as a passing QB than Michael.</p>

It certainly sucks that he won't be able to devote his full attention to the gamein a supposed make or break year.

Allen Iverson has offered some works of encouragement for Michael Vick.</p>

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19916989/</p>

"There was always a bullseye on us," Iverson said. "Everybody doesn't love athletes."</p>

Everybody doesn't love athletes. I'm kind of hoping that Iverson isn't involved in any after-school tutoring programs.</p>

I'm almost certain Iverson is. I am not sure about Moss. Though, it would not surprise me if all were involved. </p>

Until this Vick Dog fiasco goes multi-sport, I'll say the NBA Ref betting scandal will be more damaging. I am sitting here watching Stern's PC... what a joke. Spin on, brother.</p>

Selig may be an idiot but Stern is the worst head of any league IMO.

Moss and Jason Williams are from the same small town where they grew up together and attended Marshall.

i dont even know why im going to argue this point here at all but here it goes. michael vick is not i repeat NOT a QB hes a glorified running back that throws the ball when necessary and when he usually does throw the ball its off target and not fun to watch. michael vick would have never won a superbowl in his career! and i say that past tensely because things arent looking so good for the boy from VA when your own friends are turning federal evidence and coping lesser sentences to testify against you. i wonder what hes thinking right now, wondering man those guys werent really my friends after all. i dont want to hear the excuses that he didnt have any weapons around him at all, because there have been plenty of qbs that have made due with what they have had. ill use brett favre as an example and this is hard to do being a bears fan and all! other than a few decent receivers hes played with such as sharpe and to a lesser extent antonio freeman he has made somebodies out of nobodies!! i mean who the hell wouldve known who donald driver was a few years back. brett favre single handedly makes good or sub-par receivers great! and that is one of the main parts of a qbs job, not to sit there and bitch about not having weapons on your team or your team switching offenses on you. if mr vick wouldve spent more time in the video room and practice field and less time murdering dogs maybe he would throw for 3k yards or 25tds, but he chose the path he went down. i hope he rots in jail for what he did, and is never allowed back into the nfl. i never liked him as a player and definately hate him as a human now. and i bet arthur blank is just loving the fact they got rid of matt schaub now whoopsie!

I agree with dabears. Might as well have Warrick Dunn be the QB, he would probably do about the same, Vick is just a RB playing QB. How easy is it to scramble forward when backs must defend against the forward pass at the same time? Oh well dogfighting aside this has to be one of the most overrated athletes in quite some time. I'm just surprised other franchises haven't tried to copy the idea. Find a good RB that has above average passing skills and let him tear apart defenses. Just have him head to the sidelines whenever possible.</p>

they never WON on a consistant basis...if they were playing for rings it would be one thing, but the offense was an underachiever while Mike Vick was in Atlanta....they just kept drafting 1st round WRS and he just kept ruining them....</p>

You are aware that he took ATL to the NFC Championship, right? I'm not saying he was the best QB in the NFL, but he was far from the worst as you are trying to make it seem like.</p>

And those two late-first round WR's (Michael Jenkins & Roddy White) that you are talking about have shown they will drop anything thrown their way, whether it is Michael Vick or Joey Harrington. It doesn't seem to make a difference.
</p>I think the dog fighting allegations are terrible, but before that Vick was still a pretty good QB. And I think you're foolish if you think any running back can do the things that Vick did at the QB position.

    <pre>Pretty Good? not exactly....in fact, hes been pretty bad....hes a below average QB at best....his career rating is .2 higher than David Carr, who the Texans gave up on despite having no one to replace him....the falcons record is the "Vick Era":</pre><pre>7 - 9 </pre><pre>9 - 6 -1 </pre><pre>5 - 11 </pre><pre>11 - 5 </pre><pre>8 - 8 </pre><pre>7 - 9</pre><pre>Not exactly consistent winnng, by the way, and the year he "took" them to the NFC Title game, his rating was 78.1(Fiedleresque)....below are his stats, judge for yourself, but most teams wouldnt start him at QB even if he didnt commit caninacide.... </pre><pre> </pre><pre> </pre><table border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" width="644" height="139" align="left"><tbody><tr class="bg1" align="center"><td>Year</td><td>Team</td><td>G</td><td>GS</td><td>Att</td><td>Comp</td><td>Pct</td><td>Yds</td><td>YPA</td><td>Lg</td><td>TD</td><td>Int</td><td>Tkld</td><td>20+</td><td>40+</td><td>Rate</td></tr><tr class="bg3" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2001</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">8</td><td align="center">2</td><td align="center">113</td><td align="center">50</td><td align="center">44.2</td><td align="center">785</td><td align="center">6.95</td><td align="center">52</td><td align="center">2</td><td align="center">3</td><td align="center">21/113</td><td align="center">11</td><td align="center">4</td><td align="center">62.7</td></tr><tr class="bg2" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2002</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">421</td><td align="center">231</td><td align="center">54.9</td><td align="center">2936</td><td align="center">6.97</td><td align="center">74</td><td align="center">16</td><td align="center">8</td><td align="center">33/206</td><td align="center">44</td><td align="center">8</td><td align="center">81.6</td></tr><tr class="bg3" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2003</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">5</td><td align="center">4</td><td align="center">100</td><td align="center">50</td><td align="center">50.0</td><td align="center">585</td><td align="center">5.85</td><td align="center">49</td><td align="center">4</td><td align="center">3</td><td align="center">9/64</td><td align="center">7</td><td align="center">2</td><td align="center">69.0</td></tr><tr class="bg2" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2004</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">321</td><td align="center">181</td><td align="center">56.4</td><td align="center">2313</td><td align="center">7.21</td><td align="center">62</td><td align="center">14</td><td align="center">12</td><td align="center">46/266</td><td align="center">35</td><td align="center">8</td><td align="center">78.1</td></tr><tr class="bg3" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2005</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">387</td><td align="center">214</td><td align="center">55.3</td><td align="center">2412</td><td align="center">6.23</td><td align="center">58</td><td align="center">15</td><td align="center">13</td><td align="center">33/201</td><td align="center">27</td><td align="center">3</td><td align="center">73.1</td></tr><tr class="bg2" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td align="center">2006</td><td align="center">Atlanta Falcons</td><td align="center">16</td><td align="center">16</td><td align="center">388</td><td align="center">204</td><td align="center">52.6</td><td align="center">2474</td><td align="center">6.38</td><td align="center">55</td><td align="center">20</td><td align="center">13</td><td align="center">45/303</td><td align="center">30</td><td align="center">8</td><td align="center">75.7</td></tr><tr id="total_CAREER_qb_passing" class="bg3" height="15" align="right" valign="middle"><td class="bg4" align="center">TOTAL</td><td class="bg4" align="center"></td><td class="bg4" align="center">74</td><td class="bg4" align="center">67</td><td class="bg4" align="center">1730</td><td class="bg4" align="center">930</td><td class="bg4" align="center">53.8</td><td class="bg4" align="center">11505</td><td class="bg4" align="center">6.65</td><td class="bg4" align="center">74</td><td class="bg4" align="center">71</td><td class="bg4" align="center">52</td><td class="bg4" align="center">187/1153</td><td class="bg4" align="center">154</td><td class="bg4" align="center">33</td><td class="bg4" align="center">75.7</td></tr></tbody></table>

Joey Harrington would kill for stats like Beef listed above.

    Oh, sorry Falcons fans.
