Last night I was at a late night restaurant in Pittsburgh when all of a sudden Big Game James walks in w/ some eye candy. I got a chance to talk to him for about 15 minutes about a ton of things. Needless to say, Jerome is a character. He told me that he planned on signing with whomever gives him the most money. His exact quote was, "It's all about the money w/ me, I'm sick of setting screens for Ray Allen." He also told me that Ray went to Nate and management and told them that he couldn't play w/ Flip, and that he wouldn't resign w/ Seattle if the two of them were competing for shots. None of what he told me surprised me, but to have what I had already assumed confirmed validated some of my past theories. Just thought I'd let the family know some off of the record thoughts of Big Game James.
About time this forum got some juice in the last month, nothing much has been happening at all. No surprises about Jerome - he's not going to be a star wherever he goes, so why not look for the most money he can find? We've got a rookie centre drafted in the lottery and have obviously groomed Collison to play some centre next season, along with Danny, so he's entitled to find the best deal he can. Flip won't be back regardless, so I don't see that Ray Allen thing as anything except Ray protecting his own role in the offense. I'd expect that.
"Iam sick of setting Screens for Ray Allen"- so what does that mean that he is looking to go somewhere where he can get a few touches in the post instead of just being a screener? Calm down Jerome dont let those few buckets against the Spurs go to your head. And as far as Ray Allen not wanting to play with Flip Murray, I can see him saying something like that to mangement cause Ray always hates playing alongside people who feel they have as much of a right to shot the basketball as he does...
Thanks for the info, fam. Just like you said, I expected this to happen but once the news is confirmed by the person, it makes it official. If we were Jerome James who wouldn't take the money?
For starters did u just directly ask him about Ray and Flip? Just seems like a weird thing for him to bring up. Secondly Allen saying that would make sense cuz that tandem was horrible.

He said that Ray pretty much had the organization by the balls this season. Jerome seemed to be a pretty genuine dude. He kind of blew off his date to talk w/ me (same as I did) for a pretty long time. I was just shocked to see a Sonic w/ no Pittsburgh ties at a local eat in spot at 3:30 in the morning. Doesn't happen too often. Just like when they put a microphone is his face during the playoffs, if you are looking for an honest and funny quote, it's pretty easy to get one from Big Game James.

Although we would never advocate having punk in your heart. Only the strong survive in this forum.

While he was very complimentary of Jerome during the playoffs just gone, I wouldn't be surprised if those two aren't the closest of friends. Oh, and I hope you made up for blowing off your date later
I'm glad that you blew off your date, fam, a man has to have his priorities. Did he indicate guys who were likely to back next year?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pwn3d!:</div><div class="quote_post"> Oh, and I hope you made up for blowing off your date later </div> Awwright. Anyways, Shiek, did you namedrop JBB in the convo?

I had no idea the word "fam" was banned from anyone who isn't a Sonics fan. I guess I'll just have to stop saying that word.

He didn't give me any specific names, but I'm guessing that he means every free agent on the roster not named Ray Allen should expect to get low balled. Needless to say he didn't sound optimistic that this team will be kept in tact next season.

I seriously doubt he has any information as to what management will pay that we dont have. I just dont see Wally Walker calling up Jerome James and talking finances with him.
Hey, are you from Pittsburgh? Im from the Munhall Area. What about you? What Resturant were you at? One Mor thing. What the hell was James doing in Pittsburgh? lol
hahaha, that's hilarious. sounds exactly like something the sonics management would do... lowball everyone that is.
