Why you start postin all of a sudden [IMG] I think that the trade for Suns is alright. They get another big but lose part of the run'n'gun offense. Well Knicks get screwed. Bad contract, no defense shooter. Typical Isiah.

Bradley retiring, bout time. I'll just miss him getting pozterized

I think we should wait for the results until we determined who gets screwed.

Well, Suns definitely got two rabbits. In one hand, Suns desperately need to get rid of Richardson contract, because they can't afford keeping him and hope to resign Johnson. In other hand, Suns need a tough inside presence desperately, and it's quite impressive for them to get a double double guy with good post up defender. And, I have no idea how they squeezed 1st rounder, although it's future Spurs pick.

For Knicks... Richardson is much younger than Thomas, and since Richardson is capable of playing 6th man, he will fit nicely. Also, because they are loaded with PFs, they do need to jettison some of them. And, I guess this trade will pretty much decide that Knicks will draft Frys. But, is Thomas trying to play a role of championship maker? This year, he gave Nazr to the champion, while collecting yet another undersized PF with heavy contract. Now, he gave their only dependable pf for 3 pts shooting sg. Also, isn't Knicks trying to lower salary a bit? If so, there is no reason for them to pick up Richardson's long contract. Also, knowing that Suns are desperately looking for a big man and to dump Richardson's contract, I am surprised that Knicks didn't receive some picks, instead of giving up 1st rounder.

Spurs won! I am happy for Duncan and Spurs. Although, Duncan missed his chance to make himself one of top 10 greatest player, I guess he will get another chance very soon.

I find Allan Houston rule in new CBA very interesting. Basically, if you waive the player, you do not have to pay the luxury tax on that player's salary amount. In other word, if we have to pay luxury tax, and Cohan absolutely wants no part of the luxury tax. So, he is more willing to trade Davis or Richardson. If we are in that situation, we can waive Fisher or Foyle's contract and avoid luxury tax, although Cohan still needs to bite their remaining contract. This trade will cover huge blunders Mullin made in last offseason a bit, and this will may push Mullin to resign Dunleavy bit more. Also, you will see very interesting and big name players being waived, just to avoid luxury tax. And you can bet that players union will try to remove this rule in next CBA bargaining, because many big name and overpaid players will have to bite MLE after thier current contract ends, and they may not have bird exception to sign big contract...

Richardson is a big, long contract-but for a rising talent-not a fading one. Knicks are in a messy spot. They overpaid a lot of players, and several of those are fading fast. Q-Rich and Frye give some rebuild foundation. NY Media fantasies will assume the Knicks find takers for their mistakes-but it won't fly. As many K Thomas deals as were rumored in the last few years,I still question that this is for real.

Not to go offtrack, but I was rooting for the Spurs, too. I was happy to watch the last game, it was well played. Duncan played much better than I expected - although it's been a few weeks since he returned from his ankle injuries and no one mentioned it, having suffered a similar ankle injury early in my career, I'm surprised he returned as fast as he did and played as many minutes as he did, and he never once complained.

As far as the other news, it's certainly an interesting trade. Thomas is a pretty steady guy, but he rarely draws fouls or gets to the line - turning more into a shooter lately on offense. He's solid defensively, though, and I think the Suns lineup will look a little better defensively with another big man in there.
