<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">RealGM - Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reported exclusively to RealGM that the Orlando Magic have offered Miami Heat free agent Keyon Dooling a three-year $9 million contract.

Givony learned of the offer on Wednesday evening from a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

Dooling, who has averaged 5.8 point per game over his five years in the NBA, has yet to accept the deal, as the Nets are also in the running for his services.

Ohm Youngmisuk of the New York Daily News reported that Dooling had arrived in New Jersey on Wednesday night in prepartion of his visit on Thursday with the Nets.

Whether or not the Nets agree to a sign-and-trade deal with the Blazers for Shareef Abdur-Rahim will likely be the deciding factor on where Dooling eventually signs. If the Nets are forced to use their mid level exception on Abdur-Rahim, then they would be out of the running for Dooling.

Dooling was selected by the Magic in 2000, but was traded to the Clippers on Draft Night.

The 6-3 guard out of Missouri became a key member of Miami's playoff run last season after four uneventful seasons with the Clippers.

Givony also reports that signing Dooling could open things up for the Magic to deal Steve Francis, who has been the subject of trade rumors this summer. Givony's source indicated that the Lakers are one of the teams reportedly very interested in acquiring Francis and that Lamar Odom would definitely not be included in the discussions.</div>

I'm a big fan of Dooling. He is a kind of player who can come off the bench and provide instant offense and energy. Although his game can be out of control some times, he is a great back up he just has to mature his game and make it more stable.

That's exactly why I wouldn't want him starting. I think I would rather see Jameer Nelson in the starting rotation and then have Dooling come off the bench. If we sign Keyon, we are going have a sick bench this year with Keyon Dooling, Deshawn Stevenson, Hedo Turkolgu, Tony Battie and Kelvin Cato. Not to mention we still have Diener and at times during the season, we could see Fran Vazquez coming off the bench. I think we will be a much better team then last year and I am really looking forward to how all of this works out.

If we get Dooling i know we would have one fast man on our team this guy is quick. Iam 50-50 on this though trading Stevio for someone not named Odom to the lakers is kinda dumb IMO.

Yeah and they just signed Andrew Bynum so they would have to wait until December to trade him. Doesn't sound like a very accurate rumor if you ask me.

I agree he is a great spark off of the bench but his game is too out of control for him to be a starter.

I'd also be willing to trade franchise for someone named bryant, but uhh, since he's really in charged out there, i doubt he's moving, and certainly not unless . . . well there's no one in the league you could give for kobe except maybe duncan or kg

Never know you wouldnt think Shaq would be traded to anyone else besides kg or duncun but he did. Bryant could become mad with Phil Jackson and the rest of LA never know whats could happen.

Good thing to hear Otis shot the rumor down I didnt see this same info anywhere else. Thanks Swish for the info.
