I know Lopez was going to be bought out, but I guess Snyder and Sloan really didn't get along. I mean he was their 1st round pick last year. Fair deal for the Grizzlies, but Kings get a steal thanks to the Jazz. Sadly our rivals just found the SG they lacked and have a pretty complete starting lineup. PG Bibby SG Wells SF Stojakovic PF Thomas/Skinner C Miller
Lol, its hilarious how us Warrior fans make topics about everything NBA in the Warrior board. Anyway, Utah does get the worse part of the deal and Memphis gets the best but in defense of Utah, Snyder is a bust and has little potential, Borchdart has little potential, and Lopez is planning on going back to Europe. Ostertag is an expiring contract and can provide some defense in the lane for Utah, plus he is white so Utah fans can relate well to him . Memphis makes out like a bandit, landing a good PG (as long as hes not injured) and some young guys to add depth. Sacramento made out pretty well too, traded an injury prone back-up PG and an old C for a young SG too bad they sacrificed alot of their depth. IMO, Sacramento should have let Kevin Martin have the starting job and went after a PF.
Okay, i was reading about the trade and apparently this frees up some room for Utah to make a large bid to Sarunas (insert his last name), the foreign PG and become front runners for his services.

Utah gets screwed looking for the lottery. Sactown loses all chemistry with Wells. You all know how he is about his attitude. Memphis gets everything good here
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Run BJM:</div><div class="quote_post">Lol, its hilarious how us Warrior fans make topics about everything NBA in the Warrior board. </div> Hey our offseason month of July has been boring as hell so we pretty much have to I agree with BDiddyJRich, I think the Kings picking up Wells is great, but great only if Bonzi wants to play for the coach there and the coach is going to play him. I mean despite his inconsistencies and attitude, he's a good player. He's athletic, he can pass, he can dribble, he can play in the post, he plays terrific defense, he can rebound. He's a little bit like J-Rich in a way but way less consistent, less gifted in athleticism, less gifted in his 3 pt shooting, but a better ballhandler. He's a 6'5 power guard, basically. Lopez I thought was going to be a good point guard, but he was always injured, turnover prone and he never filled out, making him a huge target to post up. Borchardt I thought was going to be a top 10 center in the league in the mold of Raef La Frentz, but he was always injured too. The guy was looking like a shotblock monster earlier in the season when teamed up with Boozer and Ak47. Good passer, pretty good rebounder, and has some great shot range. Kirk Synder is okay, very fundamentally sound, powerful, and athletic, but his jumpshot pretty much sucks.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">I thought chemistry went out the window last year when they traded CWebb and Christie.Id say Memphis and Sac both filled in key areas. However, Utah got reamed </div> Well at least the chemistry wasn't like when Mobley takes 15 or more jump shots per game. I thought the guy was a pretty good passer and very flashy when he wants to be. 3 assists a game and all, but is it me or does he seem really selfish sometimes? Maybe it's because he's like Derek Fisher. He'll shoot the long ball, but he won't take it inside and try to get fouled or distribute to the big man with a well crafted interior pass.
That's interesting about Snyder. I thought people were kind of high on him last year, and thought he could be a steal of the draft. But then again that could have been Jim Barnet where I heard it from, and I am not sure if he is the best judge of talent. Anyway, I believe the Kings will be interesting next year. I am not sure if their old style of play will be as successful as in the past; with Webber, Divac, and Christie. Though they still do have Bibby, Peja, and Miller. The Grizzlies have some potential there too. I suppose if nothing, they get a decent back up PG and spark off the bench, and they get rid of Bonzi which in the end frees up their log jam at the 2/3 positions-they have a ton of twos and threes.
You guys are kidding Utah didn't get raped!!! Lopez was leaving anyway, Bochardt can't stay healthy, and Snyder plain out sux!!! http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...ed=1#post494471 In there I tell the whole reason they got rid of them!!!

Back to the topic, i was tinhking the same thing, now Utah has the highest bid for Sarunas and with Ostertag's contract coming off of the books it opens up salary cap space for his contract. Utah was only looking to find roster and salary cap space in this trade and they got it.
They only got about 700k trimmed off their books, but Sarunas wasn't looking for much other than security (a few million years for 3 years or so). The trade wasn't that bad, but it is kind of sad that Utah has not been getting production out of its recent draft picks. A lot of it has been bad luck. Wells is probably happy to get to a team that's a big more open-court minded, but I still worry about his effort on the defensive end. As far as the Grizz - I'm not sure where they're going, but they did need to get rid of Wells. I suppose this was the best offer they had, and Jackson will fill in nicely in the Memphis rotation, I think.
Zhone, wasn't Wells known as a good defender? He's just not known as a consistent scorer nor much of a pure two guard.
I got the sense from summerball Snyder was looking like a guy about to play his way out of the league. A healthy Borchardt can have more total game than Pryzbilla,Lopez is like Santa Claus-heard of him-have not seen him. Wells,a player who CAN be quite a plus in the right situation. When it goes well-among the best in steals,15-20pt,above avg boards assists for a 2-guard. Sac seems to gey a real boost.

I don't think this deal is good for Jazz. Sure, Utha did shed some rookie contracts for one year contract. But, it wasn't that much to begin with, so I would rather hang onto couple rookies and see what happens, instead of clearing a little bit of caproom. Besides, Utha did have caproom before, and that didn't exactly lure top tier FAs for Jazz. Also, if better version of Ostertag was a whipping boy of Slone, I seriously doubt that current version of Ostartag will do anything but a sandbag for Slone. Great trade for Memphis, and Sacrament is really getting desperated...
