It's on the bottom line of ESPNEWS:

    Grizzlies get: Bobby Jackson
    Kirk Snyder
    Curtis Bochardt
    Raul Lopez

    Kings get: Bonzi Wells

    Jazz get: Greg Ostertag

I thought we just let Greg go? Why did we get rid of Bochardt, he was just starting to develop? Kirk Snyder i'm happy is gone, then Raul Lopez is gone anyway. Does anyone know if we get any free cap from this?

I dont think so, Ostertag is a 4.5-5.0 Million Guy

The Jazz did just let Ostertag go in the previous offseason, he signed with Sacramento. The Jazz are reportedly close to signing Sarunas Jasikevicius.

The Jazz get Greg Ostertag, Kevin O'Connor has expressed interest in a shot blocking Center and he should now have one in Ostertag. Ostertag has played 9 seasons with the Jazz in the past. He has an expiring contract and may be past his prime. They give up Raul Lopez who was going to be brought out anyway, Kirk Snyder who has been in a lot of trade rumours recently and Curits Borchardt, who had struggled to make much of an impact in his career with the Jazz due to injuries.
The Jazz could have got more in this trade.

Well, Ostertag is back, not much skill as always, but at least he's coming off the books in a few years... *shrugz*

Does this trade help Utah??? They get their usual center, that has no skill and get rid of some dead weight IMO. Kirk Snyder never was gonna be anything special. Bochardt couldn't stay healthy, and Lopez was as good as gone. So did Utah do this for cap next year and maybe a run at Yao??? LOL, I can dream!!!

I kinda like this trade, especially since this will be a contract year for Ostertag; he always steps up his game in those seasons.

But the Jazz was basically clearing rosters spots with this trade, they didn't get much/if any cap space with this trade but they did open up two rosters slots and pushed the buy-out of Lopez's contract to the Grizz. Borchardt has been a glass man so far in his career, the Jazz obiviously likes their possibilities with Miles than Kirk, and Raul was gone anyways. With Tag they get a guy who knows Sloan and the system, a shot blocking center, and leadership in the locker room; when first looking at the trade it looks as the Jazz got a raw end in this deal but actually I'd give them a grade of a C+.

The Jazz may now try to improve their situation at Shooting Guard with this trade. With Raja Bell and now Kirk Snyder leaving, they are now left with just Gordan Giricek and CJ Miles at SG. CJ Miles is a rookie and the Jazz could look to try to improve on him as the back up SG.
