Last season, Moore?s eighth in the NBA, he appeared in 74 games with the L.A. Clippers, averaging 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 15.9 minutes. He shot 50.2 percent from the floor and 78.7 percent from the foul line. Moore started four games and scored in double figures on 17 occasions, including a career-high 18 points in two separate games. Moore recorded a career-high 14 rebounds vs. the L.A. Lakers last season on Dec. 11, 2004.

"The addition of Mikki to our team strengthens our frontline," said Sonics Head Coach Bob Weiss. "He?s a big man who possesses very good hands and a strong basketball IQ. I?m looking forward to working with him."

During the 2004-05 season, Moore played a career-high 1,178 minutes and scored a career-high 396 points. In 256 NBA games, the former University of Nebraska player holds career averages of 4.7 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Moore previously was with the Sonics for their 2003 entry in the Southern California Summer Pro League and was with the team during 2003 training camp. </div>

Thanks to Coolguy777 for posting this and "breaking the story" at the end of the "Mikki Moore" thread. Just wanted to make sure it didn't get lost in the shuffle.

Anyways, its interesting how quietly this was all done. None of us would have even had an inkling they were looking to sign him save a tiny blurb on insidehoops.com. Hoopshype, realgm, espn, si.com, none of these sites had anthing in their rumor sections about it. At the end of the day, Mikki probably wanted to come here, and a deal was worked out quickly so his agent didn't need to drum up interest via the media.

Wonder how much the deal is for and for how long. I'll take a stab and say 2 years 3 million.

Hmm, Big Game Mikki actually had decent stats:

Nice FG/FT % for a big man. Obviously they are very different players but startlingly similar to JJ. At about 1/5 the price, probably.

And I wonder if this was a final little jab at Jerome:

To tell you the truth, I'm suprised we didn't have to wade through at least the typical agent speak "Seattle and Blank are both interested in Mikki..." considering he played so solidly in his role with the Clipps last season.

The C/PF minutes distribution is going to be a tough one to figure out.

    C's
    Vitaly
    Fortson
    Moore
    Swift

    PF's
    Collison
    Vladimir
    Reggie

Alot of guys deserving minutes in this group.

You would think, as far as outside players go, our roster is pretty much rounded out now. Reggie, Flip and Vlad are the only unsigned guys now, and I would expect Vlad and Reggie to at least sign quali offers. If Flip gets a deal from somewhere (Denver?), we may just let him go and give Damien his two guard minutes.

Sounds good. He'll be able to help out, I think.
