I am praying that Mullin doesnt re-sign him, at least not before we get another season of evaluation.

I think it's best to find his market value at the end of the season. He becomes a restricted FA, but I believe that the market won't ask for much, and we'll get a better deal than if we sign him now for big money as Mullin would probably do. I mean, if Mullin is willing to extend him with big bucks, might as well do it at the end of the season right? that way they either spend big bucks or less.

    Oh yeah [IMG]

Maybe he should not be on this sight either. Sounds like when I was in high school how I would not do my homework, but would spend all my time playing ball or macking on the ladies...[IMG]

yes taft looks out of shape but he has missed a lot of time injury so, it will take him some time to catch up to everybody else on the team.

How did he look out of shape? Man, for as bad of a game we played we still almost scored 100pts even without our leading scorer from last season. I wonder how we would have played if Jrich was here...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm not watching the game, but it looks like the Kings had a lot of transition opportunities with Troy Murphy shooting 4-12 and Fisher is 0-5. Long missed shots, lead to long rebounds and the Kings are great on the fast breaks.</div>

According to NBA.com they only had 3 fast break points...[IMG]

I was hoping Dunleavy or Pietrus would take up the slack. I wish I could actually watch the game. Even listening to it would be nice...

Apparently this game was very ugly. Only Davis and Murphy came to play, everyone was terrible.

A game where the bright spot was that our scrubs closed the gap so we didn't go down by 20+. Miles+Monta+Young had a decent finish. Fish was 1 for 20 or whatever....aside from Murphy +Foyle nobody was rebounding and we were much too perimeter.

It's only preseason, but it's clear we have some obvious faults we have to find some way to improve in the next few years. We need to dump the fish in favor of a guard that can make some fastbreaks successul and won't lag in transition or we need to pair Fisher up with a big man inside. With Dunleavy, he's going to be that guy who will struggle when there's nobody to take the pressure off him or he'll get hot one night in the first half, and he'll blow the next half or blow the next series of games. Also, I don't think his defense will ever be that consistent. He's too easy to abuse. Scorers are all over him and they are thinking "easy money". Pietrus just plain plays like a rook, but he's got all the tools and the desire to be an effective player with the right help around him much like how Dunleavy works (they both need B-Diddy/Jrich to set the tone). And we have no defense or inside presence just like before. That's nothing new until we get Taft or Diogu or Biedrins ready to work down low because Murphy and Foyle are pretty much tapped out in what they can do. We've got good direction, but parts of our team just aren't great handling transition defense or working inside against quicker defenders that can swarm a guy inside. Also, when will Dunleavy ever consistently blow by people like he was Dirk Nowitzki or at least Peja with improved ballhandling? He can't even freakin' guard Peja another 6'9/6'10 guy.

I guess there is no corellation between Dunleavy's mustache and his ability to find the hole when it comes to shooting or driving at the basket or defending. sigh... Maybe he needs to grow a beard or maybe some bal--- well you know. The kind he grew at the Dallas game last season.

I really think it's laziness on the defense. Most players can be an average defender by just TRYING. If you really try hard and concentrate, you can defend a guy of equal size. Of course it's very tiring, but it must be done. A lot of the time it doesn't seem like he tries at all.

Nah, I think Dunleavy tries, he's just too slow. And he's not really too physical or outhustles other guys constantly. I guess the bigger question for myself is would I settle for homer Sacramento announcers that compare Peja to Ross on Friends and Brad Miller to Chandler Bing on Friends or a homer Warriors announcer who compares Dunleavy to Larry Bird (fine, "Larry Bird-like"). I mean, Dunleavy is to Larry Bird as a rowboat is to a yacht. If I were to compare Dunleavy to a character on Friends the way the Sac announcers do to their players, it would be that Dunleavy is Gunther the coffee shop manager. Yeah, I didn't notice him much either on that show.

But anyway, I still consider Dunleavy an underdog and hope he does well. It's just that he's sooooo disappointing.
