We did win big against the Laker, remember? Yes, last night was a bit of a reality check. I think this team is somewhat buying into the hype. Instead, they need to play with a chip on their shoulders. I too think Jrich is more valuable to this team than we all realized. I hope all is well with his family...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shootingmachine:</div><div class="quote_post">What do you mean? Anyways I hope Sacto and the Warriors can develop a rivalry because in ** eyes they are fairly even but the Kings have a bit of an edge (Maybe I only think that because I'm a Kings fan). I think it will be great to see the two teams face off in the regular season.</div>

I completely agree with you. It is going to be a battle, but your offseason additions will put you over the top IMO.

Maybe Dunleavy is not playing well because the contract talks are weighing in on his mind. He says he is trying to not let it affect him like it did with Murphy and Jrich, but I bet it is. I mean you gotta have some psychological reprocussions and feelings of not being wanted or valued enough...

Don't forget Dunleavy had offseason surgery on his knee, right?

Also, it could be his new mustache is hurting his lip. I will follow the Jim Barnett example of making excuses for him.

I did not realize he had surgery. I doubt if it was a minor surgery it is bothering him. I think its more psychological over the contract situation. Remember he seems like a spoiled kid fed with a golden spoon his whole life. Maybe he is pouty...

I will combine this thread later with the Sacramento Kings game thread.

BTW if you think about the Kings having Brad Miller and Shareef Abdur Rahim as center/power forward, that's one all-star laden frontline that can score. Plus, Peja, Bibby, and Bonzi are allstars or near all-stars when they're feeling it. The team might be soft defensively, but they look the type to win a lot of regular season games because they've got a good coach and some good setup guys in Miller and Bibby. Also Peja, Shareef, and Wells are near all-around players too. Our team isn't so all around or as loaded with allstar talent, so I could guess we could get our butts kicked by them. I mean we're just getting used to our new coach and our new system which the Warriors did not really practice last year. Without a scoring big man in the starting rotation, we need to run plays or how else do we get open? Dribble the ball back and forth reminiscent of the Steve Francis/Cuttino Mobley backcourt in Houston two years ago? You can't win ballgames that way regardless if we post up on point guards or shooting guards using BDiddy and Jrich because most shooting big men can't defend for squat and then we lose the option to crash the boards on offense with smaller players when the opposing big men don't want to leave the painted area. There's just too much perimeter action going on in our team unless we have guys like Baron Davis, Speedy Claxton or Gilbert Arenas breaking down defenses.

Sorry, maybe the so called "surgery" I heard about was a sex change [IMG] J/K Dunleavy rules! I'll try to find articles and news sources to validate what I heard.

Yeah, I cannot back this up. I probably am confusing this with somebody else or might have been confused with a sore knee Dunleavy was having problems with last season. Oh well no excuses this year for Dun. Make or break.
