Why is Taft getting less minutes than Ray Young? Taft is a beast among those scrubs and he needs as much playing time as possible.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, I would have said Baron was player of the game, but ya gotta respect Dun dropping 30. How embarassing is that? BTW, Murph had an assist where Dun hit that three with the buzzer sounding. That started our run right there...</div>

We'll find out from the guys who saw the game in person eventually. Dunleavy was probably the most efficient scorer on the floor (especially from downtown) and he rebounded and probably made a few hustle plays and crafty moves. I'm guessing Baron got a little sloppy with the ball or teammates weren't where they were when he was throwing it. It's hard to throw a ball and expect the team to cut a certain way and they don't. Point guard always winds up with the turnover stat unfortunately, but Baron still managed to log down as many assists as Nash and outscored and outboarded him.

Good win, but can we work on our free throw shooting next?

There's probably no point since Taft is recovering from injury right now (back or groin or something). Coaches probably want to watch his minutes just to see how it feels jogging back and forth.

I don't have NBA TV or any of that special comcast stuff on channel 400 or whatever it was.

So Dunleavy was that good without much help?

Taft sounded good for the time he got.
I think Monty is rewarding Young for all of his hard work. It's either Young, Justin Davis, or Ackindele. My monies on Young, but I'd rather pick Justin. Young is Barons buddy so if you want to keep the superstar happy you sign his buddy.

Biedrins had a great game. Did you here the Suns announcers raving about his poise, and hands.

If we were to take another invitee other than Miles I would guess Akindele. Young and Jusin Davis are probably only there because they are local and have connections with othe people on the team. I liked what I saw from Ray Young in Summer League and preseason but he doesnt have much upside and we have plenty of players at the two, which is the only position he can play.

Some injury news after this game:

    <ul>
[*] Davis, limited to shooting drills Tuesday to rest his body, wore a brace over his right shoulder to keep it loose and warm.
[*] Backup Golden State point guard Derek Fisher dislocated his right middle finger with 11:25 left in the second quarter and did not return.

What can I read into a preseason game like this? Perhaps that some players were more ready for the season than others. Dunleavy shot efficiently,Biedrens produced without a lot of fouls,Murph got some boards,Miles looks like a keeper,MP doesn't score a lot-but rebounds well and Baron does his thing. Well.the preseason games have not been at all consistant, but the core guys are productive. I guess we even played some D the way the Suns game dried up at times.

Obviosly if Dunleavy does have some more games like this we will be adjusting our expectations.

What a game! Davis looked great, Dundun was so loose. Man, he was so fluid. The starters all looked great. The Challenge is if Pietrus and Beans are in the game together. They seem to get in each other's way because they're both somewhat lost out there, but when Davis is out there running with them, they both do well. We'll see how this unfolds after the season starts and the rotation becomes set

Wow, did anyone read the ESPN recap on the game? Dunleavy shot 5 of 3 from 3 point range, man he's hot, that's 166% 3 point shooting percentage.

This was a good win, nice stats from DunDun and i think Davis also played huge! I also liked the stats Biedrins put up. I hoop he can make a contribution this season. I must say that i'm pretty curious about the minutes he'll get this season.

Now lets win our next game. I hate this inconsistency. Lose one game, blow the same team out by 30 the next, then get blown out ourselves, then blow out another team by 20+ points the next game...

He was in the flow. He made 5 of 7 I think. 2 of which were at least 3 feet behind the line. He also hit this turn around jumper from about 15 out that was smooth as silk. That play and the alley-oop to Pietrus were the top 2 plays of the game. Pietrus went up past the top of the square to get it. It was awesome.

that alley oop to Mickael was amazing, Baron looked like Pistol Pete, he was just dribbling nonchalantly at the top of the key, and just flicked the ball to Pietrus, who did his best Jrich impersonation and went real high to slam it home, it brought the house down (17,000+) the Arena is going to be rocking this year.

I also liked when Jrich left the ball for Dun and he nailed another three.

Baron's behind the back pass to Zarko (I think) was quite nice as well, but we didn't get back on D and Marion had back to back oops.

I think if the Warriors can have a good record at home like they did I think two seasons ago along with beating 80%+ of the Eastern teams and play .500
ball on the road, you got yourself a legitimate playoff team.

Here's a scary thought. What if Baron, Pietrus, Troy, Foyle, and Fisher get hurt altogether?

That leaves us with this roster

    pg: Monta Ellis/Aaron Miles
    sg: Jason Richardson/Ray Young/Monta Ellis
sf: Mike Dunleavy Jr/Calbert Cheaney (Zarko Cabarkapa/Jason Richardson/Ike Diogu)
    pf: Ike Diogu/Chris Taft/Zarko Cabarkapa/Justin Davis
    c: Andris Biedrins/Chris Taft/Zarko Cabarkapa/Deji Akindele (Ike Diogu)

Back court seems decent as long as we have J-Rich and a distributor on the floor, but Ike Diogu is untested and our frontcourt and middle are very shallow. Biedrins is too foul prone and physically immature to do much consistently. Ellis looked great in preseason, but so did guys like Nikoloz Tskitishvilli and Jiri Welsch. There's talent in all those guys, but on the floor in a real game it's a different story.

If Dunleavy gets hurt, we have no true backup small forward. Could Mullin designed it this way so that there's faith that he will be the starting small forward and there's nobody behind to take it? Maybe Mullin might wait on this re-signing after all.

They Warriors also cut Mamadou N'diaye (source)
