I am sure I am not the only one who thought of Dumb and Dumber quote.

Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?

Mary: I'd say more like one in a million.
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance?

I can really go over why it's realistically impossible, but I don't think it will help in this case. Bottom line is that you have better chance of winning a lottory then Dunleavy being shipped for next two years. And... Don't go out and buy BMW and stuff, because you have a chance to win a lottory...</div>

Somehow, I do seem to have number of haters.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kwan1031:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually, it seems to work with new CBA and Pacer's 2.6 mils exceptin.

Dunleavy's poison pill status make him 8.1 mils (4.5/1 year + 44 mils/5 years divided by 6). Combined with Foyle's salary, the package makes 15.31 mils. It still is bigger than Artest + Foster package (11.8 * 1.25 = 14.75). But, I heard that Indina has 2.6 mils exception, and if so, difference is bigger than the difference of the package.</div>

    Happy now?

Hey, if Mullin can get Baron Davis for practically nothing. He might be able to work his magic once more.

Yeah, if Mullin can get Artest and Foster for Dunleavy and Foyle, I will probably build a shrine for him. Not only he is free from Dunleavy obsession, he can dump two big salaries.

Well, at the end, you can say Mullin got Davis for practically nothing, but it really was a gutsy move with huge risk. We were risking potential disasters like Davis' health and Spree like attitude problem. Since, Davis has been nothing but postive, we looked like we robbed Hornets. Ironically, maybe Davis' huge success drove about 15 teams to bid for Artest. And, probably because of the competition, we probably won't end up with Artest unless we want to offer something significant. Hope Bird can see himself from Dunleavy [IMG]...

twice you have stated they have recieved 15 quality offers,so nows the time to back it up!!

perhaps if your information is so good you could provide the details of these bids???

in fact just 1 bid would be ok,give us the details of 1 bid that you know for a FACT the pacers have recieved???

    thx in advance

Watch yourself, Junky. You might want to read site policy here on duplicate posts of the same content and personal attacks.

    and here:

edgar-davids was the guy who mentioned a different trade than the one in the article and wasn't really making a good point about whether Dunleavy could be traded. He was basically being an idiot, if you couldn't can't tell for some reason. It was said Dunleavy can't be traded easily, but it is possible if some team wanted his contract and his inconsistent talent. That part is true. Plus, there are some details about the poison pill provision that are unclear whether Dunleavy even can be traded. I think he can, but considering what Dunleavy has done, is he even worth 44 million over 5 years? He's not even a lights out shooter or key component of the Warriors offense like Fisher is.

The regular media often screws up a lot of times because they are unethical, lazy, or ignorant. They don't even cite the rules of the Collective Bargaining Agreement which dictate whether trades are legal. As far as most sports articles go, those two sources might as well be the national enquirer. Try ESPN insider, they actually care about their credibility.

I'll follow up on this post of what has been discussed, so you can follow along. See below.

    Go W's

However, teams can say whatever they want to the press to distort things and get better offers. Larry Bird probably hasn't received all-star contracts unless they are guys who are washed up or off the bench. Stackhouse or Antoine Walker, anyone? Plus, if a trade is still being discussed, why leak out anything yet unless it's to mislead on purpose?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Indiana Pacers president Donnie Walsh is "encouraged" by the quality of the offers he has received for Ron Artest, including what he said were at least two proposals involving All-Star caliber players.

Without being specific about any of the 12-15 offers he said he had received, Walsh told ESPN.com he had heard from 20 teams, some of which merely called to ask what Walsh was looking for. Walsh said he was planning to get back to three of those teams to make specific requests.

Hey just so you know all capslocks is considered shouting. So try and use regular case, please.

Also, yes, the legality and plausability of whether Dunleavy could be traded was what was being discussed.

How tradeable is Dunleavy considering his talent, his contract, and what we're getting in return? It's slightly possible to trade him.

That was never in doubt, but maybe Kwan worded it differently as virtually impossible because he doesn't believe Dunleavy is in demand that much and he would have never received a contract that Mullin paid him. But most importantly, Dunleavy's virtually untradeable because of the poison pill provision status. While Dunleavy's overall trade value is somewhat in question, what matters most is whether the collective bargaining agreement makes the conditions for trading him easier on us as it is for the other team. The trade of Dunleavy is illegal if the same amount of salary is being traded.

    Dunleavy + Foyle = Artest + Foster

in terms of salary. Since Dunleavy is in poison pill status (PPP), the Warriors need to take on a bigger contract than Foster's if they want the trade to work (something as big as Jonathan Bender's because it almost matches the average of Dunleavy's rookie scale contract and the years remaining on his newly extended contract).

What was brought up by Kwan was the trade exception. If Indiana has a trade exception for a certain amount, it adds it on to Foster's contract to make it so it's enough to offset the poison pill provision status on Dunleavy.

None of the trades being mentioned in the local newspapers mention any of the clauses in the 2005 CBA such as poison pill provision or Dunleavy's recent extension, and newspapers have been totally wrong before. Thank goodness for Kwan bringing this stuff to the table because with the uncovered facts you know what's b.s. and what is not. It's all about credibility if somebody is going to publish their works and get paid for it.

Now, imagine if the scenario required us to take on a big contract with a lot of years on it (not Foster's) and the other team had to take on two heavy contracts with Foyle and Dunleavy. The trade suddenly becomes less plausible. GMs can make bad trades, but c'mon. I think Larry Bird can get more on the market for Artest than a utility player and a backup center. That's why Dunleavy is hard to trade right now because there are strings attached. Once that new salary kicks in, he takes up a lot of team salary.
