    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kaman's payday

The Nuggets are making stars of everyone. Clippers center Chris Kaman is said to be looking at the $60 million deals that Tyson Chandler and Samuel Dalembert got and figuring that his extension should be right there too.

"I think he's the white Tim Duncan," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said.

"He's got the quickness afoot like Duncan to beat people. He's fundamentally sound, and he works at understanding the game."

The tandem of Kaman and Elton Brand has the Clippers thinking beyond just winning their first-round series against Denver.

Added Sam Cassell: "He's the key. He's definitely going to be a top-five center in this league someday."

Kaman was a hyperactive child diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and prescribed Ritalin, which he said he stopped taking at Central Michigan because it affected his appetite and fatigued him.

"I was just real wild," Kaman said. "Wherever trouble was, I found it--taking people's bikes and putting them on railroad tracks, climbing on neighbors' roofs and having shingle fights back and forth. Just crazy stuff. The biggest problem [now] is when I'm in the huddles. When I listen to Mike going over the plays, sometimes I find myself wandering a bit. But I just focus in and, usually, I'm OK. I ask a lot of questions."</div>

You think the Clippers should re-sign him for the price he's looking at?

The most random things come out of Chris Kaman's mouth. Shingle fights? bikes on railroad tracks? [IMG]

I don't know many young centers in the league with his back to the basket game. The only other guy I can think of who does well with his post play is Nenad Krstic.

Somebody will pay that much, maybe more...The Clippers gotta prove they want to win by returning him to the lineup.

In this age of basketball, pure centers are hard to come by. I think he'll command that type of loot easily outside of the clippers if they are not willing to sign him. If guys like Dalembert and Chandler can get luta deals like that, why cant Kaman?

Seems to me the days of the dominant big man are disappearing. Everyone wants to be like Mike and no one wants to be like Kareem. Hopefully Bynum will change that. *wink* Back on subject, I think they need to pay Kaman that amount. He is worth it.

I'm not sure if he's worth over 60 million, but you have to overpay these days, especially when it's a bigman with a legit post game.

ugh... tyson chandler got $60 million??? thats just plain insane. I know solid bigs are hard to come by but Jesus Christ! Kaman is a lot better than Chandler but 60 mil seems like a lot even for him.

He's definitely worth it. Considering his age, improvement, overall play this season and potential that he still possess, 60 million sounds cheap when comparing his impact on the court to other Centers. Behind Shaq, Yao, Duncan and Wallace, you can make the arguement that Kaman's the next best Center.
