There are so many intangibles that Set Jordan apart. Most of these go beyond his maginificent basketball skills.

    1. <font color=""Red"">Imagination</font> to see on the court what no one else could see or concieve
    2. Will / determination
    3. basketball IQ. Knowing what to do and when to do it.
    4. Domination..he could intimidate an opponent into paralysis with his eyes
    5. Finishing
    6. Healthy EGO along with a respect for the skills of his team and opponents.
    7. Heart of an assassin
    8. NEED to win
    9. Perspective and respect for the game and it's history
    10. Elevating the play of his team mates.
    11. Very high intelligence
    12. Perfect basketball body.
    13. Amazing leadership capability

I'm sure there are dozens more intangibles that set Mike apart
from the ordinary great star. His was a kind of "perfect storm"
where all the disparate intangible elements came together to make
him who he is. All great players have some of these attributes, but Mike had
'em all in great abundance. . ..especially imagination.

I was a huge fan of the hapless Jazz during their two trips to the finals...I hated Michael heartily at the time for the way he dissected my hapless Jazz. The good thing is I got to see two of Mikes championships.

There will doubtless be many future very great players, and possibly one greater than Mike, though I doubt it. One thing for certain is that it'll take another "perfect storm" for it to happen.

I am such a big Cavs/LBJ fan, but these comparisons are BS. He isn't the same kind of player MJ was, but people with an agenda can't seem to realize that.

LeBron is much closer to a Big O kind of player, but I geuss that's not exciting enough. So we compare him to MJ.

Stop with the Lebron/Jordan comparisons. The previous poster is right. He is more like the Big O or Magic Johnson. Not Jordan.

Actually, this is not true and I dunno why you would say it. It is well-known that Jordan's ego was way too big, and he treated other players like crap behind the scenes. And I'm not talking about Kwame Brown.

The Jordan Comparisons i see are more a game evolution then anything. Jordan revolutionised the game in so many ways. Brought a company to life nearly (Nike) had the cool shoes, had the Lower Shorts, had the Huge Dunks, had the unlimited potential, scored heavily, l could go on and on.
Lebrons got the same sort of style with the nice shoes, low shorts, huge dunks and the UNLIMITED potential.

Lebrons got the chance to do all that. Hes body type, is much different to Jordans. Jordan would probably have the best basketball body id say. Great length, leaping ability and was perfect for advertisers because he was clean cut(no tattoos etc.). Lebron on the other hand has come in, and really is the first with his body type. I would compare his body type more to an NFL style as he is built very well for taking bumps and pushes and to continue going for the and 1. His body type is like no one anyones seen. I see Lebrons and Amare' Stoudemires bodys as very unique. Amare' is very built and able to just throw it down on anyone with his height and quickness.
Lebrons height is like that of a Dirk Nowitzki where he just shoots it above the defender, but Lebron never settles for this. He has the age old attitude of getting close to the basket. The same attitude that Jordan had. Theyres the comparison. Same game attitude but different people. Yes he does have the same endorsement deals like Jordan and will continue to get them, but thats where comparisons should end besides maybe scoring averages and what not. If i was to compare them, I would say they are both revolutionisers of the game with theyre body styles and the way they went about the game and life.

Someone earlier said something about Lebron getting to be cocky, and mentioned how Jordan was a humble guy. Well to me, I think Lebron is a very humble guy. During the press confrence after there game five win, Lebron was asked about Rasheed's garuntee, and Lebron just simply said, we can't get caught up in any of that. The way Lebron handled that shows that hes not a cocky guy, most cocky guys would have a much different reply to that question.

    You just described Lebron James.
Please compare the numbers of the 2 players in their third season.
    They are identical.

Look at all the commercials LeBron is making aswell. His marketability is just as good as Jordans was. That is a kind of comparison, I believe the comparison is directed towards LeBron being the next massive impact on the league, like Jordan was, but their games, lebron is ahead of Jordan so far for his age.

LeBron has talent and whats great is he still has more potential. But the fact of the matter is LBJ rides more on his strength/body while MJ had this skill that no one can come close to. Don't get me wrong, LeBron has skills, but not that as great of MJs. MJ had this mid range game (Wade has an MJ-like game) that showed off so much talent, skill, discipline. He was great.

LeBron and Jordan just shouldn't be compared. Like everyone sais. In the back of your head you know something is different when you think of MJs game and you think LeBrons game. Even though they are the leagues greatest 2 players imo (by the end of LeBrons career).

Wade might make top 20 if he continues to grow and shine. 3 rings for wade and he should be there.

Lebron is a player on his own, I think that he doesn't need to be compared to anyone. He's a great player. If your looking for a player who game is close to MJ, I think theres nobody closer than Kobe. Kobe emulates Jordan's game right down to his mannerisms on the court, look at the way he shoots his fade away j's, his freethrow's, how he runs, Kobe is doing a good job at it but if he keeps this up, he will go down in history as the greatest Jordan clone! He has to find his own game, he can be great player as Kobe and not only as MJ's clone.
