They're mounting, and I think they need to do something.
First, the long ball. Where is it? There's a really good chance that McNabb's injury prevents him from throwing the long ball. He said that it hurts most when he's throwing across his body, and to fully get behind a ball you do need to cross your body somewhat. If that's the case, McNabb needs to go. He already can't throw while running outside the pocket, which was his strength. All these things combined, you can understand why it's difficult to run the ball. I know the Eagles aren't running enough, but everytime they do, it seems to blow up immediatly. Bottom line, without the quick release or deep threat of the Eagles QB, it becomes much easier to shut down. I hate to say it, but I think McMahon is the better option. The reason why the Eagles are "overrated" is simple. They have immense talent, but the keystone is lacking. McNabb is missing, and I know McMahon is nothing to McNabb, but maybe he can get his surgery and be back for the playoffs. I don't know the situation, because I'm not McNabb, or Andy Reid.

McNabb should get the surgery now. The NFC is so crappy that they'd still have a playoff shot. Every week he delays scres the Eagles more.

You are forgetting one thing about the long ball, there is no Todd Pinkston this year. So what you want about him, the guy is a great deep threat and will stretch the defense. There is noone on this team that can do what he did. I have seen McNabb throw the deep ball with no problems, it's just that they dont have the deep threat besides Owens. Greg Lewis is too short and same is true for Reggie Brown.

I knew the downfall of the eagles had begun. I didnt think it would be so soon they would miss playoffs, but probably not going back for a long time.

Dude, The Bears are 4-3 and are considered to be having a great season, Eagles are 4-3 and they suck??? I guarantee you that they will make the playoffs, and they are still the most talented team in the NFC. They've been through tough times before, in 2003 they started 2-3 and go to the NFC Championship game. So please, dont get too excited...

NFC going into to last week was undefeated against the AFC. Not sure what it is now though with Denver beating Philly.

What do bears have to do with this? Not sure i follow. Regardless, bears are 4-3 and #2 in scoring defense, and have not been blown out in several games like eagles. So yes there is a difference. Eagles are on way down and out, accept it.

He makes a point. Even what Michael Irvin said on Sportscenter yesterday made sense. When your near the top for so long being 4-3 is like the coming of Armageddon but when your near the bottom for so long 4-3 is like being king of the world.

I agree mcnabb should get the surgery, but do u really think koy detmer could do any better than a brusied up mcnabb. I mean mcnabbs throws are bad but at least they are not going into the defenders hands. The only into last game was tiped up at the line. And i dont know but i have seen greg lewis go up for liek a 40 yrd td pass. In the superbowl right.

I agree the Eagles are on a downfall compared to how they did last year but for now, they still have a chance to get to the super bowl.

What he is sayiing is that although chicago has the same record as the eagles ppl give them more credit. and btw eagles have only een blown out in 2 games dallas and broncos they only lost by 3 agasitn the falcons. But what we need to understand is that it is not only the offense that is causing eagles to loose it is also the d-fense. They need to wake the hell up and start playing D. Trotter or B-dawk or sum 1 needs to step the hell up and keep the eagles in the game. Letting the broncos get 7 tds on you is verry bad. And i am afraid to say that if the d dont step up we may not make it to the playoffs. It pisses me off that we have one of the best secondarys in the league and yet we are giving up key plays.

Mike Mcmahon? The one who was less accurate and could not beat out joey harrington in detroit? HAHAHAHA. Good luck with him behind center

I was wondering the same thing. I seem to remember the Dolphins beating the Panthers several weeks ago.

Oh yeah my bad. Your right about that. I remember hearing something on Countdown about it. They were talking about a certain divsion.

Either way though. The NFC is a lot better than last season. AFC is still superior but the NFC isn't a joke like it was last year. Just the NFC North.

I think a lot of that had to do with the huge money Harrington was/is making. At the point McMahon emerged, no one wanted to give up on Joey without giving him a "fair chance."

I agree that McMahon would be a better choice than Detmer in Philly.

A lot of Lions fans do believe that Mike McMahon should of been the starter.

Now granted though BF1 is right to an extent. McMahon is not going to be the QB you want to lead you to the playoffs most likely.
