Good job Dallas, you finally passed us. i got to give it up to you. But now here in San anto already i am seeing a lot of bandwagon fans. Last night as i was passing a sports bar i literally saw a guy taking off his spurs car flags and put up dallas car flags, i hate bandwagon fans. Anyways great job mavs, but i still say GO GPURS GO. Spurs are my team win or lose.

Believe me, those fans are in every city.

It was a fantastic series. Now it's time for the Spurs to reload and make another run next year. They are going to be good for a long time.

Disagree with that one. ^^^ Duncan is aging, Horry is old, Barry isn't really the same, Van Exel will most likely be gone, Finley is in the same boat as Van Exel, no legimiate big man by Duncan, as a TEAM they are very slow and not atheltic, Bowen is putting on some age as well. So basically their only bright spots is Manu(which is injury prone btw) and Parker. Duncan will be Duncan, but honestly as far as this team being good for the long run I wouldn't put my money on it. I give them another two years at MOST to give the title a run but after that they will not be the same Spurs unless they go in a different direction.

They can go winless the whole season and i will still wear their jerseys and apparel with pride

I agree that some of the role players are aging, but Duncan, Manu and Parker are just now entering their prime.

I have no doubt that the Spurs will feature the big 3 with a younger, more athletic bench next year. Van Exel will retire, Finley will move further down the bench, Bowen will be older but as a defender he won't lose much and rest will probably be cut or traded.

Like I said, this Spurs team will simply reload, and is long from being done. The Texas rivalry is just beginning.

I agree, btw i think Van Exel is going to retire after this season. Which sucks because hes one of my favs. The spurs lack young players, and they will soon run out of gas.

The good thing is that, even if this team is on the decline, I don't see a rebuilding period lasting too long. They've managed their cap well and are always good come draftime. It doesn't even seem fair to give the Spurs scouting staff a lottery pick.

I don't know, I was just talking hypothetically. Just saying that even if the Spurs had to rebuild a bit, they've got arguably the best front office in the league to do it.

Yeah, somehow they always come out with great draft picks in the latter parts of each round. Examples? Making All Stars out of late picks Parker and Ginobili.

As for the Spurs losing it, Duncan is aging, but he's still one of, of not the most, dominant power forward to step into the paint, and will continue to be for several years. Once he rests that foot and remedies his plater facilias problem, I see his season stats returning back to his normal levels of 20 and 10+. Parker and Ginobili have been All Stars in the past two seasons, and old Bruce will still play defense.

As for the bench, well... dunno about that. Nazr and Rasho will probably still be there, Barry is beginning to lose it, Finley is doing okay (love the flashbacks), Van Exel will retire, Horry is becoming less effective, and players like Sanders, Oberto, Udrih and Marks are still unpolished. At least we have the core together.

And I've been a hardcore Spurs fan since the first day I ever saw David Robinson play the game. Now, Duncan is my idol.
