He is still on the squad but he never gets any PT because of LeBron being in front of him.

He is no longer on the Cavaliers he became a free agent a couple off seasons ago, and the Cavs didn?t resign him. I loved Wagner when he played, but injuries ruined his career. I remember he was averaging like 14 points a game at a certain point during his rookie season, but he always had something wrong with him, and would be out every other week. He was brought in a while ago to the 76ers summer camp (I believe might just have been a workout), but didn?t make the team.

He had colitis and in late 2005 had his entire colon removed. He's about fully recovered, so he could wind up in the league this season, but at the end of the day, he's just not talented enough to play in the league.

He struggled even before his bizarre injury, because of his size. He's a classic "tweener", except like most tweeners his size, it's not that he lacks the ball handling skills to be an effective point guard, because he definitely can handle the rock. His problem is actually his lack of hoops IQ, or rather IQ in general. He couldn't understand the plays that coach Silas would run and was eventually benched because of it. He was such a dominant high school player and even a dominant college player for one year because he could get by as a two guard at just 6'2" in shoes, but he just doesn't have the tools to overcome that lack of height and be anything but a point guard on the NBA level.

Yeah was curious to what happened to him along with many other NBA ballers maybe there should be a section on lost NBA players. Well at least I now know what happened to Wagner

The one thing I'll remember fondly about Wagner is he could hit that floater over anyone. He could be chest to chest with Motumbo and he would still get that shot off. He never seemed like he knew what was going on, unfortunately.

The bright side of his disapointing career was if he didn't have his problems, we wouldn't have gotten the #1 pick in 03' (but we might have got it this year)

tough to say he doesn't have the talent he dropped 30 pts in a game as a rookie. I'll give you the lack of point guard skills but i think a lot of what hurt him learning the position was injuries, supposedly he's got bad eyes too and was thinkin bout gettin laysics.

    Wagner`s 100

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CAMDEN, N.J. ? Gloucester Township Technical School boys' basketball coach Rob Sweeney said he has never seen anything like it.
On Tuesday, Sweeney got an up-close look at a remarkable feat when Camden's Dajuan Wagner broke a state and South Jersey high school record by scoring 100 points as the Panthers rolled to a 157-67 win over the Warriors in an Olympic Conference National Division game.

"He was stroking it today," Sweeney said. "This is the first time I have ever been on the other end of something like this.

"When I coached at St. Mary's Hall, I had a girl score 72 points in a game and I thought that was unbelievable. But today, that kid was something else ... My kids played hard, but there is nobody in the state that can stop that kid."

Wagner's 100 points broke both the state and Camden school mark of 94 set by the Panthers' Greg Barr in 1994. Wagner also became just the 13th high school player in the nation to score 100 or more points in a game. The last player to hit 100 was Kenneth Johnson of Grandfield, Okla., in 1979, when he scored 105.

Damn I remember hearing that a while back. I just really hope Wagner the best down the road and hopefully everything turns out for him.

Compared to you or me, of course he's talented as hell, but with his size, he'd have to be a lot more talented to be consistently effective on the NBA level. He's a great scorer; there's no doubting that, but just about every other area of his game needs work to overcome the height disparity.

----- Not that it means anything, but I just figured I'd throw this out there: Milt Wagner, former Laker and Dajuan Wagner's father, actually worked with me running a basketball camp for select in-city talents this summer. He was surprisingly quiet about his son's situation though, so I couldn't really find a good way to bring him up in the thread but thought I'd mention it anyway.

^ Watch him become the next Anthony Parker. Dominates the Euro league and is treated like a God and comes back to the NBA when he's like 30.

Right now, he has an offer on the table from Philadelphia. However, he is waiting to see how the AI situation plays out before making his choice.
