Makes you miss the good old days....not a world championship run but some of the most entertaining basketball in the NBA.

Can't help but think a possible second coming would have been Arenas, J-Rich and Du... well two out of three. Someone please show Dunn this thread on how to play aggresive when you are not the fastest person on the floor.

Thanks Custodian, I haven't seen that in a long time.

wow if nothing else you knew that they would bring it every night. I miss those days when other teams actually were concerned with how to stop Run TMC.

Great stuff, I still have a Tim Hardaway 'Die Hard' poster from back in the day with Timmy dribbling through fire.

Tim was one of my favorites sice he was from the Chi. He would drain it from anywhere. I saw him sink 3's from half court during games shooting with normal form. Crazy for a guy that a suspect 6'1.

Well, it certainly wouldn't be the lower half.

Wow. I miss watching T-Bug cross over or fake over fools. I've always wondered what happened to Run-TMC. I know GS had Chris and Tim, but what happened with Mitch?

After watching this, I know what it must feel like to be dumped by Jessica Simpson. Those were the days!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Richmond

He got traded to the Kings for Billy Owens, probably due to financial reasons. I can't remember the exact reason why.

We basically gave Sacramento their first real franchise player with Richmond and indirectly Chris Webber from the Bullets. Mitch Richmond was the prototypical two guard that I wanted our shooting guards to be. I'm not too mad about Webber though. He just wasn't the same player after those injuries to his knees. But man talk about an Amare Stoudamire like player who could do 360 dunks, monster finishes, and pass like a Kevin Garnett. Passing was the one thing I liked about Webber more than anything. For being such a dumbass in the NCAA game, he knew how to make plays happen as they came along. So many big men in this league just can't pass that creatively and Webber was one of those few. So in a way Ike Diogu is a throwback to the kind of big men we should have been drafting at PF with more fundamentals and at least one physical mismatch in their favor. Webber had strength and athleticism, whereas Ike has mainly strength, but that's okay for a #9 pick in 2005. I'm just glad we have a power forward that can play around the basket, shoot some, drive some, and pass well. Ike won't be webber in his prime, but better than the other 10 jillion busts we've drafted, including Chris Washburn who was the ultimate Warriors disaster. Not even Joe Smith could top that.

He traded for Owens because Owens had all of the physical gifts of Magic Johnson... Mitch had some issues closing out games and it was a chance to get a 3/4 that could do it all. I remember Nelson mentioning that 2-guards are a dime a dozen but a guy like Billy Owens only comes by once in a blue moon. He really missed the boat on that one.

I'm not sure what the team makeup was but I'm sure he was looking for a point forward. He loves those guys. He was nuts over Antoine Walker when probably the majority thought Walker was an offense momentum killer and low %, high volume shooting, mostly all-around type of guy.

He's definitely got that Baron Davis style, only Timbug was a better shooter. If one has courtvision and length to play taller, a guy doesn't need to be that tall to look over defenses.

I love those lightning quick, stocky point guards. They probably would have been good football players too for the amount of bulk they carry and how quick they can turn direction.

My friend sat behind Baron on the plane once and said he was a really really big guy and said that he looked like he could have been a football player if he didn't play basketball lol.

Was he sure it was Baron and not a football player?

Baron's supposed to be working with Mark Grabow to lose some weight and get in shape since June. Maybe he had a few too many all-you-can-eat buffets at Las Vegas [IMG] .

Run TMC had some chemistry. They just clicked when they were on the court together and became the highest scoring trio in the NBA [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG].

I think Nelson's downfall was that he was too impatient and arrogant. He thought he could do better and wanted a big man by trading for him.

at the time of the trade, most people in the sports community touted it as a great move. And the team didn't exactly fall apart after that move. Infact, after getting Webber and Spreewell couple of years later... the team looked amazing.... then Nellie decided to move Owens for the Center he never had... and it all went downhill from there.
