"We are pleased," said Joe Dumars, the Pistons' president of basketball operations. "Will had a good showing at the Vegas summer league and we are excited about his potential and ability to give us depth at the point guard position."

So does this mean he will be playing for us next season?

It means he will have the chance to. When a player is offered a contract, depending on his age and experience, a team can do a number of things. If he is within the age and experience limits of the NBDL, he may spend time there. If he isn't, generally this means he will either be in the rotation, or on the injured list. Since the injured list now no longer means that players can be with the team during games, it is no longer considered a viable option for young players to take part in the team.

Nowadays, if a player is given a contract, he is either in the roation, in the D-League, or not on the bench, waiting for someone to get hurt.

Thanks for explaining that Squishface, contract matters always confuse me, lol.

I'd like to see Will in the roatation, he's pretty old for a rookie (24), I think he is old / mature enough to gain experience first hand rather than second grade experience. Plus he gives us depth at PG.
