The only team left with any real money to play with is Charlotte, which doesn't need to add more size. My prediction for Gooden: a two-year, $6 million deal from either Minnesota or New Jersey.</div> Source Gooden would be a good fit, as long as we don't overpay.
I could see Gooden starting alongside Krystic down low. He would be a good fit for you guys and would you give you strength at every position.
Gooden would be very nice for New Jersey. You guys have needed an interior rebounder for a while. It's quite bad when your PG and SF rebound better than almost all your bigs. In addition to this, Gooden can also score, and can finish quite well too, but we'll see what happens.
Gooden would be a nice addition. Though that's just a personal opinion, as well as someone from SI, so I don't know how much credit I give it.
Gooden is the perfect addition imo. In minny he would be the odd man out under KG. I doubt they would want KG as C unless they are playing small ball. He is a head case but hopefully he gets it all together in NJ. GREAT addition imo for this FA.
The Nets don't need Gooden...at least they are not headed in his direction. They are going for Illic and a guard this offseason. And that is about it.
I think Gooden would be a great addition to the Nets. He gives them another interior scorer and gives them that much needed rebounding big. Plus, I think with JKidd running the show in Jersey, it could really elevate his game to another level, at least offensively. He hasn't played on a team with a great point guard yet, and I think he could be even better than what he is now if he were to play with Kidd.

They want Illic and need a veteren Guard. They do not have the roster space for both Gooden, what they want, and what they need.
No, I must be not clear. If you can get a potential starter that can fill your needs and more vs. a bench player, I think you go with the starter than the bench player. Rebounding and some post scoring is worth more than what Kareem Rush or Eddie House can give you.
I get that what you are saying, its just that the Nets (rather management's philosophy) are going to get House or Rush and Illic. Illic will provide future benefits while Rush or House are managemnet's philosophical needs. Therefore it is unlikely that we will see Gooden with the Nets. Historically speaking, the Nets do not really like Gooden as a person or player either.
All I can say is the Cavs had better get a good replacement for him if you guys do get him. I do think he'll be a nice fit for you, with Krstic, Gooden, RJ, VC and JKidd being the starting 5 you would have strength all round. Obviously, the 1, 2 and 3 are the best, but you would be solid up front. Gooden might not have the prettiest game, but he could get it done for you.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Historically speaking, the Nets do not really like Gooden as a person or player either.</div> Since when? And Ilic is about 3 years away from contributing. He went scoreless in a blowout against Argentina today, and reports say he is not a strong rebounder either. So a tough, hardnose player like Gooden will benefit. Vince Carter is about to turn 30, and Kidd is wellinto his 30s. Winning now is the priority.
Gooden would be perfect for us, as he is great at running the floor. Please Thorn and Ratner don't pass this up...

So if Gooden decides he wants to sign with us, I think Thorn will get him even with the past comments he had about him.
Gooden would be great we needed a big man and we could get him right here. If Gooden wants to win he would play in New Jersey rather then for the Timberwolves.
