<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGR]http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/andriuskevicius_060818.jpg[/IMGR]The Chicago Bulls today acquired center Martynas Andriuskevicius from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for guard Eddie Basden.

Martynas Andriuskevicius (Mar-teen-es An-droo-SKAV-ih-chis), a 7-2, 240-pound center, appeared in six games with the Cavaliers during his rookie season.

He also appeared in 15 games with the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League and averaged 7.0 ppg and 4.2 rpg in 18.9 mpg.

The 20-year old native of Kaunas, Lithuania was originally selected in the second round (44th overall) of NBA Draft 2005 by Orlando. He was then traded to Cleveland for a second-round pick and cash considerations on June 29, 2005.

?Martynas is a young big that we view as a player who needs development with his strength and skill, but has the potential to make it in this league,? said Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson. ?We are always looking for size and skill, and feel he is a young player that we are willing to take a strong look at.?

In one year with the Bulls, Basden appeared in 19 games and posted averages of 2.1 ppg and 1.5 rpg in 7.5 mpg. He also played in 14 games with the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League and averaged 10.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg in 25.6 mpg. He signed with Chicago on August 9, 2005, after going undrafted in NBA Draft 2005.</div>

While it gives us some depth, there's also a godo possibility he'll be going to the NBDL. We have great potential to make it that far, but with how good the East is this year and how good the West is every year, it's still going to be tough, no matter how good our team looks.

I dont think he's NBA caliber yet, but he could be a younger version of Big Z. I really liked Eddie Basden so I dont think they should've traded him because of his defensive capability.

I believe the word to describe Bobcats comment is sarcasm.

He never lived up to what the Bulls wanted. He wasn't all that great on defense when he played and his offense was very poor. And with Martynas, he's not even close to NBA caliber. He is the definition of a project right now.

Basden really didn't play and didn't live up to his expectations like Moo said, they weren't big, but he didn't do that great either. I think Marty will probably play in the NBDL, hopefully he developes nice there.

    sar?casm Pronunciation Key (s?rkzm)
    n.

Sarcasm is sneering, jesting, or mocking a person, a situation or thing. It is often used in a humorous manner and sometimes expressed through particular vocal intonations. Sarcasm is often expressed in ironical statements. It can sometimes be the sincerest form of discourse for the emotionally fragile. This is often done by simply over-emphasizing the actual statement, or particular words of it.

John Paxson is killing me with this stuff I just learn how to pronounce Khyrapa and he throws Martynas Andriuskevicius into the mix. I don’t even know how to spell that without copy and paste let alone pronounce it. Anyway, I think John Paxson is trying to turn the Chicago Bulls into the United Nations I honestly think we have a player from every ethnicity on our team right now. If we got a Brazilian person, we would be set.

As far as Martynas Andriuskevicius the player goes. I have yet to see him play, but he looks extremely weak and physically fragil. He will take a lot of time to develop, but to be honest with you anything is better than Eddie Basden. Basden was not getting the job done. His defense was not as good as people previously anticipated he got light up in summer league by Adam Morrison for 25 points in one half!

I’m surprised John Paxson still hasn’t given Aaron Miles or Drago an opportunity. I think both those guys would be more worthy of a roster spot than Martynas Andriuskevicius. Oh, well I trust Paxson we will see how this move turns out in a couple of years. I don’t see how this move makes sense for the Cavaliers though. They are already loaded in the backcourt and they go and trade for yet another guard.

Never heard of the guy... should be interesting to see how this all fits together. That name is certainly a mouthful. Martynas Andriuskevicius... can't imagine spelling that without copy & paste lol.

We aren't talking face to face, so sometimes sarcasm might not be recognized.

Wasn't he supposed to be a like a top 5 pick a couple of years ago and then didn't enter, and then he entered after and was like a 2nd round pick.

Martynas Andriuskevicius. Basden wasn't doing much so why not try and see if this guy can turn out into something good.

Man, when I used to do sim leagues this guy was a lock to be a #1 pick in any draft. If he turns out that good I will be happy.
