Boston papers are reporting that Brady played the second half of the season with a sports hernia and will be having surgery within two weeks to repair the problem. This definitely makes me feel better about some of the bad over throws he had going down the stretch because it must be tough to follow through with abdomen and groin pain.

The one thing that is amazing is that he never showed he was in pain and finished the season without using it as a cruch. Somehow he still surprises me with his toughness and class.

Matt Birk played a full season with a sports hernia. Playing at QB with a hernia is one thing, playing center though? I can't even imagine how much pain that would cause.

I hear ya...but O-Lineman are just freaks anyway..they don't feel pain unless something completely breaks..lol.

Oh and McNabb doesn't look so tough anymore after hearing about this. Its been tough day for him..racist comments and being outed for fraudulent toughness...ouch.

McNabb played with the sports hernia, it's when he got hurt trying to tackle Roy Williams after interception, he tore 4 groin muscles. Thats when he had to sit out for the season.

I'm not convinced that McNabb's comments were racist and I'm not sure his toughness has been proven fraudulent. Perhaps Birks' sports hernia injury wasn't as severe as McNabb's. I have a shoulder injury that has never healed properly. Sometimes, when I sleep on it wrong, I hurt it pretty bad and, other times, it's a mild tweak. I've had a half dozen kidney stones. Some stones hurt me more than others. I'm sure that not all sports hernias hurt the same.

Well maybe his toughness wasn't outed but I certainly didn't see Brady making faces after bad throws like something was hurt...and I remember plenty of them from McNabb when he was hurt...yes the severity may have been different but you will never know because the Pats aren't going to reveal the severity...but they did say Brady had a sports hernia and it requires surgery to heal it so it can't be too much different.

As for his comments the Steve Largent thing was going a little to far..especially since TO didn't even bring up Brett Favre..Michael Irvin did. IMO you have to be racist yourself to see something racist in TO's comments. Then to go a far as saying its Black on Black crime is hilarious exaggeration....and who knows maybe he exagerates other things as well...injuries?

    From WBZ4:

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is recovering from surgery.

Brady reportedly had surgery last week to fix a sports hernia, although the exact nature of the surgery has not been confirmed and probably won't be by the Patriots anytime soon.

Brady was in Miami Tuesday to take part in the Toyota Dan Marino Celebrity Invitational golf tournament.

He told reporters that because of his surgery, he was taking it easy on the hard swings.

The injury is expected to take six-to-eight weeks to heal and the three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback is expected to be fully ready by training camp.

Hey Bakes...what do you think of the Vinateri situation? If we let him go that would be just stupid and I can't see why the CBA would prevent them from signing him..because even though he'll be the highest paid kicker in the league its not like he is going to command some 40 million dollar deal...they better get it done soon.

Well my guess is they feel confident they can get a long term deal done. They have until a week from today. I'd be shocked if something didn't get done. I can't imagine Adam would want to leave.

I guess Givens is more than likely gone? He was a real bargain for us & now it's time he cashed in.

Ya I have assumed Givens is gone for a while now..its too bad because he was a more than solid #2 receiver but if we can replace him with someone like Jurevicus I'll be happy. I'll definitely miss Givens though.

I don't think I have any more ammo to throw at Brady, pure toughness, I can still dislike him though can't I?!!
