The Eagles aren't concerned about the color of your skin when it comes to playing QB. Donovan is an NFL QB. If he couldn't do the job he'd be on the bench. He's earned praise for his accomplishments. They have nothing to do with him being black. Maybe in some people's mind Donovan is a black QB, but that's their problem. To the Eagles he is simply their QB.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Eagles4Life)</div><div class='quotemain'>HAHA, McNabb is given too much credit??? OK, you just proved that you are a Racist yourself my friend. If anything, McNabb has been more critisized then an average QB, that considering his accomplishments. 5 Time Probowler, 4 time NFC East champ. 4 Times went to the NFC Championship game, got to the Super Bowl, First QB in history to have a season with 30+ TD's and less then 10 INT's and so on...and all this before the age of 30!!! Sure he has lost some games, but who hasn't.</div>
I agree he's accomplish some amazing things. Now I'm not a McNabb fan and his numbers didn't skyrocket until TO was there and I believe he goes back to a 20 touchdown 12 pick type of player again until they find that big play receiver but people are calling out Peyton Manning for not winning a Super Bowl. What about McNabb. Outside of a few people on this board no one really has labeled McNabb a choker..

Just because BF1 thinks that McNabb is overrated doesn't mean he's a racist and you should be careful how you sling around that word. Are you saying that anyone who says anything negative about a black QB is a racist? I dump on Michael Vick all the time. However, it's not because he's black. It because he sucks when it comes to throwing the football.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>I am sorry, i agree with everything except the limbaugh analysis. His comment was accurate. The media was very desirous of black QBs to do well. mcnabb was, and is, still given too much credit</div>
Why would the media be "very desirous of black QBs to do well?" Did they miss Doug Williams leading the Redskins to a Super Bowl victory? Did they miss Randall Cunningham winning back to back NFL MVP awards? Did they miss Warren Moon's entire career? At the time Limbaugh made his comments, I really felt as though the NFL had passed the point where there might be any doubt that black players could play quarterback. Folks can debate how good Donovan McNabb truly is, but why bring up his race?

Limbaugh's comments weren't racist, but they were certainly ignorant.

Ignorant of the times. As DD said we've come along way from the days when a black QB is recognized by the color of his skin 1st. To suggest that the media is overrating McNabb b/c he is black is no better than McNabb suggesting that Favre is overrated for being white.

McNabb is taking as much heat in the city of Brotherly Love as TO was in the Summer.. This according to Sal Palintonio the ESPN writer from Philly..

Well, they dont prove i am a racist, especially with a capital R. You list "his accomplishments" as 4 time nfc east champ 4 times went to the NFC championship game, got to the super bowl. I didnt realize that he did those things alone. That is him getting credit for what a good team accomplished, just like limbaugh said. As usual he is right
