The Startribune today reported that the Vikes are shopping Pepp. Apparently they are looking for a 2nd rounder as compensation (seems a bit light to me, but what are you going to get for a guy that blew out 3 ligaments). The other possibility is that Baltimore places a franchise tag in Jamal Lewis and trades him straight up for C-Pepp.

I have made it known that I think trading Culpepper is a big mistake without a good backup plan outside of Brad Johnson. Johnson is a good replacement for 1 year, at most, but beyond that there better be some hotshot rookie QB who can take over the reigns and play some good football.

The only reason I can see trading Culpepper is if he becomes an annoyance and a distraction to the team. If that happens, then I will be happy to see him go.

I agree hes a long term solution but did you see his demands today? 10 million dollar increase when hes already accumulating a 8 million check thats a fatty to begin with.... I could understand this off of a season like he had in 03 37TDs 11Int 64 comp % when in 05 in 7 games he had 6 TDs 12Ints a comp % of 64 again. Despite hes yrs before which he had good seasons he is coming off of a this yr of uncertainty how hes surgically repaired knee will hold up... DAUNTE DAUNTE DAUNTE take the 8 million man you might be damaged goods who knows... Show it out on the football field before you demand an increase in pay... and yes they threw his ass on the trading block who knows.... we will see....

I don't think anyone's going to want him... Not until he can show he's fully "back" from the injury and he starts shutting up about money.

For a second rounder? I think that's a possibility. Imagine if he were to be picked up by Baltimore and he was re-united with Billick who knows how to use him. If he does come back from the injury, and it looks like he will, he could really help Baltimore in the next several years.

Rumor I heard was that St Louis would trade for Daunte (for a 1st)and then send Buler to Miami (for a 3rd).

I personally like this and prefer Bulger as a 'phin rather than Brees, Rivers, or Aaron Brooks

Yeah, that's what I've heard too. It seems that Biscotti wants Billick to stay and gave him one year to get it together. He said he would bring in a veteran QB that will complete or even overthrow the starting QB job from Boller. What we all didn't know was that the whole Jamal Lewis contract ending and the Culpepper disappointment was all in the future. No one would have known that these events would happen and that it was like he had a crystal ball to see into the future! I wonder if he sees LenDale White in the Ravens uniform in mid-April...

A trade involving the Rams, Dolphins and Vikings does make some since....perhaps Miami sends its 2nd to the Vikings, the Vikes send Culpepper to St Louis where he is reunited with Linehan, and St Louis sends Bulger to Miami....or maybe the Vike and Rams just switch QBs and cut the Dolphins out....I wouldnt mind trading a 2nd for Pepp, but hes got to get real with the money demands....he signed a contract, a lucrative contract, and hes coming off the worst year of his career....he sustained a horrible injury and theres a speculation around the league that Moss made him, not the other way around....this just isnt the time to be looking for a huge pay increase....

I heard on Kfan that Arizona is willing to give up a 2nd round pick and a player for C-Pep

Depends on who the player is. If we get Larry Fitzgerald, then I might be interested. (actually, I don't think we need another WR).

The other thing that concerns me is if we deal Pepp, who is going to back up Johnson?

Tehy may end up drafting some sort of project Qb in the draft then, maybe Darell Hackney.

I would be against the Dolphins dealing a 2nd round pick for Culpepper right now, unless Culpepper can pass a physical. If the Dolphins are going to give that high a draft pick, it needs to be for a healthy player.

I know that but Kurt Warner is 35 (when the season starts) and C-Pep is 29 (when the season starts) a six year differance. C-Pep is going be on the bench injured for atleast half the season. Kurt Warner is injury prone and not a reliable QB. Dennis Green is a very unpreditable coach. Expectally when it comes to aquiring players. I wouldn't be suprised if a trade between Arizona and Minnesota happens.

Jamal Lewis straight up for Daunte Culpepper is a trade that I would like to see. Although it will just give the Vikings another good running back, lol. I think Lewis would definately start and they'd be done with all that three different backs a game bull-crap.

Daunte playing in Baltimore would just make me smile, that way the Ravens would be back in the division hunt, making it harder on them Steelers, lol. No disrespect to the Steelers fans, of course, I just don't care for them, lol. So yeah, Culpepper plus Baltimore equals good.

The only probly is that trades start march 2nd and Jamal Lewis becomes a free agent on the 1st so Baltimore loses their rights to Jamal
