Ricky Williams has violated the substance abuse policy and faces a 1 year suspension. I bet this really damages everyones high hopes for the Phins for at least the time being. I really thought he was going to rebound too.

    1. Only Denver news stations have reported this...why not any Miami sources? Im not sure its true yet, especially since there are no details coming out except that he failed a test....

    2. Its prolly true, and if it is:What a tredendous moron! He still owes so much money and he was actually on the verge of making some decent cash and being able to get out of trouble....

3.It wont be a major set back for the Dolphins....no one was gonna give up a lot for him, and he was the backup at best....thats like suggesting the Broncos would be screwed if Anderson got hurt....its not that hard to replace your backup RB if your starter is healthy....

    4. Im glad it happened when it did, now they can address it in the draft....most Dolphins fans that were upset when he retired werent upset about the retirement, but the timing....this isnt so bad, especially with one off the deepest RB drafts I can remember in recent history....

Did he fail the test or just not show up? Either way he's an idiot. The Phins won't be hurt by this though.

It is kind of funny that only Denver stations are reporting this.

It was only a matter of time until Ricky got busted again. Are all these trade rumors to blame? Say, wasn't that team in the Mile High city one of those interested in RW?

I agree that it won't be a problem for Miami this time. I don't know that I would draft an RB on the 1st day. If Whitehead from Oregon is available in the 4th round then I'd get him. He'd be the perfect compliment for Ronnie and could also be a KR/PR.

There is always the chance to pick up a decent veteran for year or two. Faulk if he's let go by St Louis or Curtis Martin if the Jets let him go.

It's been confirmed I believe in Miami as well or at least they mentioned on Cold Pizza that it indeed is accurate.

Now there is a catch to this. Ricky is said to be in India so speculation is that he missed the test which results in a violation. Which would be his 4th.

the nfl looks on missing a test the same as a failed test...so really he failed...

Am I the only one who sees his being in India as pretty strong reason to believe he's back on the wagon?

Ahhhhh! The court of public opinion. Coloe me radical or Joe Friday but I am going to wait for the facts before jumping to conclusion.

Further neither Ricky or Nick has spoken, so its all idle speculation until then.

Allegedly, it was confirmed Ricky has failed the test. There is some speculation as to what the supplement was; marijuana or a dietary supplement.

RW knew the conditions and should be held accountable.

What gets me is; Leonard Little (Rams DE) killed a woman whiled driving drunk in 1998... 8 game suspension and was arrested again in April 2004 & got no suspension from the NFL.

Is this disconnect troubling to anyone else but me?

i dont think he ruined his career...he ruined his life in my opinion...he is not gonna have a shot at getting back in...pot is really gonna waste his money and time, or any drug for that matter, if he is actually doing it...soon the $money$ is gonna run out and he'll start doing stupid stuff (just like clarrett and william green) and it'll will all be trace back to his descision to either do drugs or not show up for the test...

the facts, as I understand them:

ESPN reporting on sportscenter that a league source confimed to Hank Goldberg that it was a failed test, not a missed test, although they are treated as the same in the program....

He isnt going to run out of money, hes already out....well, reletively out that is....obviously hes got cash on hand to live and travel, but hes more than broke, hes deep in debt and Im sure he will end up filing bankruptcy(if he can, the laws are much stricter now)....

He still has some value in the league once the year is over, but no one is going to commit anything to him....because of the nature of NFL deals(being unguaranteed), theres always a place for a talented player if you think they can help you....you just dont give him signing bonus money, but who cares if its long term, you can walk away at anytime....

John Clayton also confirmed a failed test, but suggested his sources said it wasnt pot, but another substance. He also said the appeals process has begun....

He's property of the Dolphins for atleast 2 more years, and suspended years dont count, so as of now, hes under contract indefinitely....theres been speculation that bankrupcty would void his contract and he'd be a free agent....if he can play, and hes free, someone will sign him....if hes property of the Dolphins, he would have to play there, because just the allegation is enough to sqaush any value he had built up last season....
