Boston are 10 - 19, any chance that come draft we'll get Oden? Do we want him? I'd like to see him in a C's uniform, but I reckon we'll miss him. We should get a top 5 pick though, who do we take?

Keen to hear celtic fans views.

    Whens Mayo available?

Grizzlies or Sixers are more likely to snag Oden at this point if he comes out.

You could probably make a run at Joakim Noah though(not sure if he'd fit or not, just a hunch), if you guys do really need a big man.

And Mayo probably isn't gonna come out till 2008 or 2009.

no chance at Oden. Even if the Celtics start tanking on purpose they'll never be able to keep up with the effortless disasters of philly and memphis. Boston might not even get a top 5 pick but if we do the last thing we need is another undersized big man.

the scary thing is charlotte might end up getting the top prize in this draft again. Imagine them in a few years with a core of Okafor, Morrison, Oden and Sean May or whatever guard they get for May in a trade.

Seems like the team that has the most ping pong balls never gets the top pick, we'd almost be better off with the 3rd or 4th worst record.

    Hasheem

What about Hasheem Thabet. I kinda like the idea of u getting a centre who is a true 7 footer. Some one who can sit near the basket and gve paul something to use to brush off his defender on the way to the basket.

Who thinks Yes? Or any other bigs?[IMG]

I would LOVE to have Kevin Durant on this team. I know he's a 4, and we have Al, but let's face it, Al just can't get his stuff together, and Durant looks like the real deal, not that Al doesn't. But it does make Al expendable, and there are a lot of teams out there that would love to get their hands on him. At the same time, if you guys really think the Celtics can't keep pace with Philly or Memphis, you're kidding yourselves. This is the same organization that sported ML Carr's glorious attempts at Tim Duncan, and they can do it again for Oden, you can bet on it.

If nothing else, we're looking at a top 3 pick in a great draft, so I won't sweat it too much, especially since we're one or two healthy threats from the playoffs, so that's pretty all right with me.

Al cant get his stuff together? he's 22 years old and averaging a double-double. how much more "together" could his "stuff" possibly be at this age.

    1. Kevin Durant is better suited for SF

    2. Al Jefferson is averaging 13/10 at 22 years old. Who's to say he can't be a 18/11 player in a year or two?

You guys are absolutely right. I don't know what I was thinking. With all these injuries, he's kind of been their bright spot, and I totally overlooked him.

The Celtics should definitely try to get Noah. He's a beast and should help Paul Pierce and help develop Al Jefferson more.

I'm hoping the Celtics get Oden to revive the Lakers-Celtics rivalry. Both teams are young enough to have 3 or 4 battles in the NBA Finals with Kobe and Pierce being involved, and then having it evolve into Oden v. Bynum.

    Kobe v. Pierce
    Bynum v. Oden

It would be great for the NBA if this rivalry was renewed.

Well, the C's have to beat our core of Calderon and Garbajosa in order for them to get to the Finals.

    Not happening.

You forget felton. Okafor and Oden in the middle would be absolutely beastly.
    Swat central every night.
