I think he would work well with Denver. Iverson thrives playing off the shooting guard spot, and with Jaric being a fairly tall point guard, they can switch off on the defensive side and not get murdered by the opposing team's shooting guard. I don't really know much about his defensive abilities, but supposedly he's a good three point shooter, which would no doubt give Iverson some space to either drive in or dish the ball. With that said however, I'm not too sure what the Timberwolves can get for Jaric, from any team for that matter considering he hasn't exactly produced much on a mediocre team and yet still has a long contract.
I am actually kind of saddened by this because he was playing well this year. Last year was a disaster because the wolves needed him to be more of a scoring PG and he is not that, plus fans resented him because he was in the deal that sent cassell away. This year the team asked him to take a role as a wing player and he actually trived there. Jaric is a tall guy at 6-7 and can play three positions. He can hit an open midrange jumper and the 3, has excellent court vision which works well in fast break opportunities, stuggles guarding quicker players but has quick hands and gets a lot of steals. I always thought he would be the perfect player for the Lakers triangle offense. If he is traded, I hope the wolves get an inside banger who can give us a good 15 minutes a night.
The reason it kinda bothers me is because his inconsistent play and lack of passing skills got him to the bench. The Wolves actually had a nice setup with his defensive play. But how does the prospect of Davis or McDyess... http://www.startribune.com/511/story/936610.html can definitely help us in the long term in payroll. Alot of people were not liking the length and price of the contract (Mohammed is on the list too but has the same length). Davis has both the offensive and some defensive game while Davis is ALL "D". Maybe we could add Griffen for someone like "Flip" Murray. Don't know how much he's used but Casey knows him.
None of those guys including Nazr have a contract that is any worse than Jaric's but any one of them could help the team more than Jaric in getting to the playoffs this year. Jaric's play this year has actually made it possible to get something in return where as last year we probably couldnt give the guy away.
I would take either Davis or McDyess due to contract status and Tonio' has an offensive game. Their thinking Mohammed, but his contract is just as long AND he doesn't want to come off of the bench, which is what he'll be doing. That's a bad fit already. Maybe they're thinking of picking him up and possibly dealing him to a team that needs another big man. I don't know. But he would not be a keeper.
Another wonderful turnout from McHale. He fits in the common theme of every player not named Garnett on the team; to hott/cold to be a consistant contribator for Garnett. Get rid of him, overpaid, lost a draft pick for him, and bad memories of losing Same Cassell for him.
