That would be a pretty good move for the Celtics, Pierce and Gasol could be deadly.

It could be risky. PP should still get into his good shape quickly. Gasol can play like a true All-Star.

PP & Gasol would be ofcourse, deadly duo.

But maybe Al Jefferson becomes a superstar in Memphis and then after 2-3 years, you Boston fans will say that why did we let him go. He's 22 and averaging a nice double-double and 1.5 BPG.

I would problably still do that trade . Pau is still 26 and he's averaging 19.5/8/3/2 (PPG; RPG; APG; BPG).

4 months ago I would have been all about this. but Jefferson at 21 is on pace to finish the year averaging more than 10 rebounds, something Pau Gasol has yet to do

I really hope this happens as well. Boston is nothing but a pesk to Philadelphia. Challenging us for the Atlantic Divison title in the past and sending us home in the 2002 Playoffs and now playing worse than us! Damn, when are you going to get off our tail [IMG]

If this trade goes down, we won't have to worry about the Celtics, but we will have to worry about the Grizzlies

    Go for it.........but only if........

I have no probs with this trade, as long as we dont loose a first round draft pick. Pau, Paul and if we can grab a good PF from what looks like a draft full of bigs, the celtics will have a two allstars calibre players, and hopefully a future top player........good for us now and good for the future.........Id consider Al and Rondo/telfair if that would work.

I think the bulls are the frontrunner.
Supposedly West wants Ben Gordon, Deng, and P.J.'s expiring contract.....and I heard that he would sub Gordon or Deng out of the Deal if he can get Thomas or Nocioni.

I think the C's should stick with a top 5 draft pick. Considering how strong the draft is this year and the fact that Memphis is asking for a first round pick and Jefferson, giving up Big Al and a draft choice for an injury riddled Gasol is a bit over the top. This years class has some great players that surely will evolve with good training.

Agreed. Al is finally developing into what we all thought he could become. Now is not the time to give him away. Pau's a great player, but I want Jefferson on the Celtics until he shows me that he's not gonna be a 20/10 guy for years to come. Besides, let's not trade away youth when we might have Oden on the way.

Why would they trade for Gasol? This would only hurt their lottery chances.

Lots of "experts" believe that Oden and Jefferson won't be a good fit along side eachother starting on the frontline and would be better off going after Durant or drafting Oden and trading Jefferson after. Would you guys agree with that?

Another good point. Ainge can deny it all he wants, but the Celts are in tank mode, and it'd really surprise me to see a move that increases the talent level before season's end.

Or for Paul Pierce to come back, for that matter.

Experts can think whatever they want to. I'd rather see it not work than just assume it won't. Seems dumb to let go of a tremendous talent because a guy that you might draft, might not be a good fit with him.

I'd be fine with drafting Durant if we were to end up with the 2nd pick, but you just have to pick Oden if you win the lottery this year.
