I think that defense is still one of the big keys to our wins in the series. The Mav's defense was again pretty ineffectual especially in the 4th quarter. Golden State's speed and fearlessness in attacking the basket took the Mav's defense out by making them commit too many fouls. They attacked Nowitski, getting him fouls and taking him out of the game. On the other hand, Golden State ended up with deflection after deflection, some of them turning into steals. Defense fuels the fast break, although with the speed of the Warriors even defensive rebounds were turning into fast break points.

P.S. What happened to Monta? I guess he wasn't feeling it tonight.

I agree with Phish...... I'm not even a big GS fan and I'm going nuts. Can't imagine what the REAL GS fans feel like. However, Baron Davis is quickly becoming one of my top 5 favorite players.

Just heard a part of J-Rich's post game comments and he made a great point. The Mavs were basically as good as they can get tonight. Dirk had 23/15, Howard had 22/12, Diop had 2 pts and 13 rebs, Stackhouse had 24 pts, Terry had 19. Harris had only 8 but played less than 20 minutes. They also outrebounded us by 15.

They can play a little better but this was close to as good as they can be while we had nothing from Harrington and Monta and Biedrins had a below average game.

Yeah, the Mavs were good but Baron raised his game beyond insane, especially at the clutch points of the game where Dallas could have slipped away. He raised his teammates level of play and that's what brought it home.

Not to be a downer though, but you know he must be dousing the knee in ice after every game. We've got to have those guys who aren't doing well step it up.

The MVP of this game was Jessica Alba. Her smoking hotness gave the Warriors the boost they needed in the 4th. She is CLUTCH!!! [IMG]

Nice. The Warriors are going to be getting a lot more 'fans' now if they can finish this off, but all the true fans really deserve this. By the way, there's a growing possibility you get a playoff series against your old friend Fish [IMG] .

Does anyone know the last time two finalists have both been knocked out in the first round the following season, if it's ever happened?

Even if the Warriors win, I'm not going to jump off the Nowitzki bandwagon. He's the MVP because of what he did over 82 games. He sustained his brilliance over the whole season and I give him a great deal of credit for that. Its a regular season MVP, not a playoffs MVP. He's a great player and he should be commended not ripped apart. He's not giving up nor whining.

Its so easy to look back and rip anybody.

I love the Warriors, but look at Baron, that guy has missed an average of 25 games/yr for the past 5 years. Don't even try to compare Baron to Dirk. Dirk carried them to the brink of a championship and the conference finals 3 times. Baron has yet to ever get past the 1st round in his whole career.

He did get to the second round of the playoffs. He had back to back triple doubles and beat Orlando, even when T-Mac guaranteed that they would win the series.

Isn't it funny how McGrady is always guarenteeing victories in the playoffs and he always let Orlando down? [IMG]

He single handedly led the Hornets to the second for sure, he might have even done it twice. One series he had consecutive double doubles to put the Magic away and advance to the second round.

No one here has compared Baron to Dirk either but its bound to happen in the media. Dirk has been mediocre in this series as his team flounders to an 8 seed. The stats have been there for him excluding game 1 but watching the game, he hasn't had a ton of impact and definitely doesn't make his teammates better and leaves his guys out to dry on defense. They're on the virge of being the first 1 seed eliminated by an 8 seed in a 7 game series in the history of the league. Meanwhile Baron Davis has been completely dominating and even Stephen Jackson has been playing Dirk even or better on both sides of the ball. Dirk has to be the MVP because hes been the best player on by far the best teams of one of the best regular season teams in history but he'll always be criticized as long as he keeps choking and failing when his team is in a tough spot.

Only Idaho and Alabama like Charles Barkely. By the way, I love the pie in his face on the Jumbotron. [IMG]
