<div class="quote_poster">Ford_11 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">How can you say that Durant will not start producing. There is so much hype and he can do so much. If he were to not produce all you would hear is "Bust" this and "Over rated" that. He will produce.

To say come out of nowhere is untrue. What does that mean anyway, out of nowhere? He is born to put up big numbers. The same can be said about Oden. He will come out and stink up the place because he won't produce. Both will be contributors, no doubt. Allen and Oden though will most likely co-exist better, because Oden wouldn't mind being a second option to Allen right away. Durant, I think, will demand the ball and take over. Which is exactly what he should do. He is way to talented to not take over. Oden is talented, but if I were Portland, I would take this chance to grab Durant before he can do some big things for Seattle.</div>
Dude there isn't any rookie that comes into the league and start scoring 35 points per game and makes his team wins championship, most of all the rookies take time to develop. College and NBA are totally different. Same for Oden, he won't come out of the box and start scoring. But that's not the point. The point is Oden will be more benefitial for Seattle. This team has lacked a big man especially a Center in the last 5 or more years. They haven't been a team with a strong inside presence. To me, Durant can't be a strong inside presence because he is a big SF. Having a strong inside presence doesn't generally win you championships, but it will get Seattle more options to choose from. In the future, like I've said before, Allen/Oden combo can work out just like Bryant/Shaq combo.

And answer one question please: If Durant comes here, why does he need to take over?

I would be so upset if Portland took Durant.

I can't wait to see the Sonics in action next season, I will get league pass if Seattle takes Durant.

Seattle has plenty of depth at the center spot, if they draft Durant they will be so versatile, they can play small ball, big, halfcourt..you name it. I just hope they can hang on to Rashard because him, Allen, and Durant would be killer.

I don't think you understand how good Kevin Durant is. He DOES have an inside presence as well as an outside presence. He is dominant all over the court. He averaged more rebounds per game in college than Greg Oden.

Durant doesn't need to "take over" but he needs to make an immediate impact and turn the team around for them to stay in Seattle and if he's being taken with the 2nd pick in the draft, one would hope that he takes a team over eventually.

Inside presence? He only averaged 11 rebounds and 1.9 blks a game.

If Rashard comes back, having Durant around will only help his game. Also, Durant is only 19 and he may even grow an inch or two. Once he puts on a little more muscle, he'll do just fine at the 4 spot.

DraftExpress has Portland taking Durant first, and with the Pritchard quote Shiek posted earlier in the thread, it wouldn't surprise me.

I would assume you want him to take over. He is a player that demands the ball, and that is what he should do. He is gunna be great. He is a great inside presence and can be and IMO will be better then Oden.

With Allen shooting 3's and Durant also shooting 3's plus going inside and creating his own shot, Seattle looks very good coming into this years season.

Meh I wouldn't mind Durant, but if KP insists that we really draft him, I'm sure he will find a way to trade down to he #2 pick with you guys and get something else along with Durant.

As for Oden, I think people are greatly under-rating the man, he averaged what, 15.7 ppg or something like that? You know for only being one handed most of the season that is pretty good, he will only get better on the Offensive side of things with two hands IMO plus we already know he is a beast on defense.

I, and a lot of other Blazer fans share the same opinion, Durant wins scoring championships, while Oden wins championships. Which is why I woud take Oden over Durant, but I wouldn't be angry by any means if KP goes the other way.

Kevin Pritchard has two reasons to pimp Durant and bash Oden. One, he has already decided to take Durant and won't even try to get the Sonics to trade up for Oden. Two, he's trying to convince the Sonics to forget about Oden and trade up for Durant.

Oden didn't work out in Seattle because his agent told him not to (Durant did work out in Seattle today), so perhaps the Blazers have already told Oden he's their pick and just want to see if they can have their cake and eat it too.

There's a photo set of Durant working out in Seattle on the website too.

Slightly O/T, I heard that we were offered last year's top pick for Ray and rejected. Probably a smart move given how the draft turned out (I assume we would have taken Morrison and Roy wouldn't have been in that equation) but interesting nonetheless.

Luckily Presti isn't going to fall for Pritchard's trickery. Lenny maybe, but not our wunderkind.
