I took this from clutchfans forum.

    Main points:

    1. Yao's shoulder's injury is a lot more serious than originally thought. Certain moves will cause great pain to Yao.
    2. Yao's toe does not need surgery.
    3. If there is surgery on Yao's shoulder, it will need about 6 months to recover and no games can be played during that period.
    4. For Yao's shoulder, it's either a surgery or recover through tough physical therapy, though the doctors (from different parts of America) haven't made a final decision yet.</div>

I also heard that if he does get shoulder surgery, his strength would be at 75% of what it used to be.

Not a big deal. If it was knee, ankle, foot or back, I'd be more concerned. But shoulder shouldn't be a hindrance.

what??? How does that work? I know that if you injure a part of your body that part becomes permanently weaker, but to be at 75% of what it was??
