Is this Rahim for Gasol type of trade or Richmond for Owens type of trade... Only the time will tell... Also, I wonder if Warriors will try to get Yi now with Wright...
JRich was the last player we had from our team years ago besides Foyle. You will be missed JRich and you are a Warrior at heart.
scenario 3 we just threw away a stud on the cusp of being an all star ..... especially with ray allen and potentially kobe being moved out of the conference for a weak ..... attitude player..... a new version of billy owens
Wow its official now but we also give up Jermareo Davidson. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">2 scenarios 1. we get a big man for the next ten years. Either solid or really good. 2. cash in and make a legitimate run for Kevin Garnett. Ellis and Wright is an excellent package for McHale.</div> Agree, I'm happy either way with that. But you have to consider that we'd need to trade a lot more salary with Ellis and Wright now that J-Rich is out of potential KG trades. Would they take Foyle? Harrington and extras? I don't know. Either way I'm happy to get a guy who is perfect for our system, a guy who can be a very good big alongside Biedrins.
What the.. F**K??? There better be an ulterior motive for this stupid trade or else I am going to hate Mullin forever. Warriors just did JRich dirrrty.
Yeah, instead of Richardson, now Minny have to take Foyle and Harrington to make a deal. I mean, if Minny want to take them, be my guest. But, it would be harder for us to go for KG now...
We are not going to get KG. No way. Marion/Stoudamire blows anything the W's have to offer out of the water. JRich, awesome dedication to the Franchise, total selflessness, great face for the lousy team. But, total lack of midrange game and the turnovers? Absolutely no handles. Warriors get cap relief, younger and bigger. That's a great combination.
Wow, I'm reeling. It's hard to realize we ACTUALLY traded JRich. Still, there were those persistent rumors that JRich was being shopped during the all-star game and before the draft. It must've been his lack of D, poor handles and free throw shooting. This will take a while to sink in.
Man I am bummed, but excited at the same time. I have a picture on my desk of me, my wife, Jrich and a scrub from the Arenas days. He was such an awesome person. He was so approachable from a fan. I talked to him a few times when I was in CO. #1 Jrich lost his legs with the knee surgeries. If he regains his form I will be very upset unless Wright becomes a Bosh type player #2 When we drafted a SG I knew Jrich or Ellis was gone #3 I was pissed we did not get a big with our 1st pick, but now we got a big and a Ginobili type player. Lets hope it works out.

Everyone loved J-Rich no doubt but like CR2 has been harping on constantly for years, JR has huge holes in his game. Agree it'll take a while to sink in. Makes me want to frame my signed JR jersey though in his memory. I hope he becomes an all-star in Charlotte and gets the respect he deserves out there and most importantly plays on a winning team and competes in the POs. Risky move but like philsmith said; better cap, younger, and bigger. Potential for another great big to play alongside Biedrins. One of Monta or Richardson probably had to go, no way we could add two more long term deals (ellis and Biedrins) without dropping one.
205 pounds... man... I'd like to believe he can be like Chris Bosh but for every one of those guys there are at least a few busts... Damn... 205 lbs... Plus, what's with his rebounding and free throw shooting numbers... Eff that... Okay breathe deep... Ellis wasn't that big and he still was one of our best players... But a power forward... a big player... weighing 205 lbs... He better get up to 230 lbs by summer camp. Damn... I hope nobody turn the AC on or he'll blow away into the stratosphere.
So what does our starting line look like now? Baron Jackson Harrington Wright Biedrens Wow we just got a lot bigger without losing too much speed. Maybe the lineup will be Baron Ellis Jackson Harrington Biedrens/Wright
Very sad to see JRich go, but I think I'm OK with this move. Realize this dude is only 19 years old and already has skills. Good chance he's going to get bigger and stronger. Watching video, it looks like he's always aware of where he is in relation to the hoop, has decent footwork, and throws it down solid two-handed every time (which is one of my few criticisms of Biedrins). Also can pass and has a decent short jumper. Sure it's a little risky, but JRich probably wasn't staying anyway, it's kind of exciting. A guy who could be here in 5-8 years but who can probably also provide some immediate help this year. Biedrins gets freed up to do his thing without all the inside work on his shoulders and Monta gets more PT. He also apparently, like Andris, has very good hands, which gives Baron an alternate pass/dish target inside. We'll see, maybe Mully has some other things in mind.
Well, like everyone else I will hate to see JRich go, especially like this, after his first year leading us to the POs. Like some here, I too am mixed about it -- obviously, it does create cap space. I didn't know you could trade a 10+ mils contract for a draft pick. How does that work under the cap (I know we tossed in #36, but still)? It was a great financial move in terms of trying to re-sign Monta/Beans and heck even Barnes perhaps. Obviously JRich isn't his former dunk-champ self after the surgery, but he's a smarter player than ever, with a better than ever jumpshot. I wish him the best in the league. Charlotte just became my 2nd favorite team. Go Bobcats! On the other side, I am thrilled about the prospect of Wright/Beans frontcourt -- we needed a a starting PF and we have a potential star here. He's only going to be adding muscle over the coming year, he doesn't seem like a Bosh type body composition. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Obviously, he's no Boozer-type bruiser, but he'd fly by Boozer in the open court, or so it seems. We'll see when we get to camp.
