Exactly. Neither Dale, beef, nor myself have even prognosticated for tomorrow's game.

Here is another key. If Ward doesn't play, the running game might suffer as he excels as a blocking WR.

Looks like Ward will play. He practiced this week and Cowher said his status may be upgraded. He was quoted as saying he wouldn't miss this game. Batch Practiced well this preseason, Jeff Hartings said this is the best he has ever seen him throw the ball. He is going to keep the Dolphins honest, I really believe Heath Miller will have a decent game, look for him to pull in a TD this week......So here we go, win lose or draw....you gotta love this time of year.

Yeah, the Rams have outstanding WR depth....the number 3 caught 60 passes for 801 yards, the number 4 caught 46 passes for 523 yards, the number 5 caught 23 passes for 237 yards....thats some serious proven depth in a wide reciever corps....

That is impressive....but that doesnt make the steelers depth pitiful.

Thats true. The steelers lack of depth and talent at position makes their depth pitiful. Good call.

This coming from a Bears fan, how exactly would you describe the Bears WR depth?

well the steelers have a rookie santonio Holmes at # 2 i believe and right there it could be trouble. He looked ok in training camp but it puts a lot of pressure on Ward. Since Ward isnt possibly playing tonight a lot of pressure on a rookie WR and a back up QB

I guess I'm in the minority on this, but I'm very confident the Steelers will win this home opener. Charlie Batch is a solid back-up, plus he's a hometown guy. The Steelers will be ready. Add in the fact the Saban coached NFL teams always start slow, it's a given Miami marked this game down as a loss when the schedule came out.

There's no shame in Miami losing this game ... it's expected.

Culpepper looks good on 3rd downs so far. He looks like the 2005 version on the first two drives.

Where's Randy?

Dolphins can win this game because they are very underrated and are playing a Steeler team without Big Ben.This Dolphin team is gonna have a surprise year. They are my darkhorse for this season.I think an 11-5,playoff season is gonna be up ahead for them.

disclaimer: I just home and logged on. I was @ Famous Dave's 10 min down the road/

Things are going about as I expected. It's good to have a QB that can throw the damn ball @ at least Daunte's incomplete are nowhere near anyone.

Zack's right. Randy has had a few good catches but not enough. I knew they weren't going to run successfully on theSteelers just enough attempts to keep things balanced. I kniew they'd shut down Chambers. Booker needs to step up. Hagan & Welker are doing okay.

FWIW, Pitt was a 1 pt fave and the o/u was 34 1/2.

ZT #54 is all over on D & Wes Welker will break a return for 6 tonight.

I do have a problem w/ Miami going w/ 2 RB's and 3 Wideouts -- especially w/ Miami having McMichael as a weapon. I think thats what ZMan means?

The first two passes Culpepper threw to Chambers were passes Randy Moss caught in Minnesota. One would have been a TD. Notice Culpepper didn't throw back to him for quite some time.

Charlie Batch - 3 TD Passes - 0 Ints
Culpepper - 0 TD Passes - 2 Ints

Like I said, never a doubt in my mind on this game.

FWIW, The quote of mine Zack used was posted late in the 1st qtr. The game did go the way I thought until 5 min left in the game.

Better team won.

I honestly don't know that challenging Heath Miller's TD would have affected anything. Nick could have made a better throw and the offical could've been a bit more aware.

The pick run back for 6 was icing on the cake. Daunte was playing w/ fire a few times and he got burned. DC did not play any worse than Feidler, Lucas, Feeley, or Griese.

I predicted Miami would win 10 this yr & stand by it. I did not think they'd win tonight.

Phins secondary needs work. OL is okay. All the delayed blitzes on D blew up in Miami's face.

Let me state; I'm disappointed that Miami lost but no more than any of you if your fave team lost. I can't control what happened so why worry. I might sweat it if Wanny were still in charge.

In fact, that's why they lost the vanilla one was there. Yeah. That's it. That's the ticket! ROFL.

Nice call bonehead. As a Bear fan I assume you saw Culpepper play without Moss ... but then again I doubt you even watch the games. At least it appears you don't.

I said that the Dolphins would win this one in a walk, but I also said that it would only happen if Ben AND Hines Ward didn't play. Oops...

Dolphins had chances, but penalties cost them. Steelers looked better than I ever gave them credit for.

In short: I was wrong.
