Now Kelley is 'reporting' that 'League sources say Lewis' camp might have agreed to a sign-and-trade had the Sonics hired Dwane Casey as their coach instead of former San Antonio assistant P.J. Carlesimo, because of Lewis' affection for Casey.'

WTF? He loves Dwayne so much he would've agreed to leave for an extra year of max money?

He would have agreed for the Sonics to get compensation in return for them hiring Casey is how I read that, given the two are as close as they reportedly are. So they both get what they feel is best for eachother.

S&T could still be in the works guys. But you guys wouldn't be getting Darko. We would resign Darko with the S&T benefiting us. You guys would definitely be screwed over.

    Supposedly this is the rumor....

    Seattle receives:
JJ Redick(2 mil with team option after this year)
    Pat Garrity(3.8 mil expiring)
    Carlos Arroyo(4 mil expiring)
    Keyon Dooling(3.6 mil expiring)
    Next years 1st, likely unprotected
Approximately 4-5 mil Trade Exception(could be used towards getting Rip Hamilton)
We could also possibly give you the $3-4 mil that would take to buyout Garrity's contract. I heard that too.

    for
    Rashard Lewis(estimated around 13 mil)
    Earl Watson(5.8 mil)

So Seattle doesn't take any long contracts back, gets a young guy in JJ Redick, gets a pick, gets a trade exception that would intrigue Detroit for Rip Hamilton and gets rid of Earl Watson's contract.

I know it's not as ideal as most of Seattle fans would have hoped, but it's better to get that then get nothing at all, IMO.

Worst case scenario though is that you have Dooling who will punch Ray Allen when you play Boston. [IMG]

I would take that. Why wouldn't we?

The Magic are trying to take JJ or the first out of the trade. Would you guys do it without JJ and the 1st?

Screw that, we need JJ to make it rain inside while it's pouring outside.

How effective is Redick going to be without an inside presence?

I don't know, how effective was Michael Jordan without an inside presence?

Are you getting Redick confused with Duhon again?

Just a thought - given Orlando traded its first rounder this year in the Darko trade, that would mean it can't trade its 2008 one.

Do they own another first rounder?

I am a huge gators fan too, so I like you, but unless you give some sort of source, it sounds like you are just making sh*t up as you go along.

Well he was rarely on the court at the same time with Dwight this year(Brian Hill's dumbass) and when he was in he played alright. If he gets his confidence back up I think he could be a solid player.

They way I understand it is once the draft is over you can trade the following years pick regardless(like what the Knicks did with the Bulls). The Heat also have the right to switch first rounders(assuming Magic aren't in the lottery), so the first could be the Heat's pick if you think that they will be better than the Magic.

I completely understand. It's just a rumor that someone with "insider" information started. Sometimes he's right, but this one seems to be a lot more realistic then others that he says based on what Otis Smith has been saying. I meant to preface this entire trade proposal with "take this with a grain of salt" like I do when I occasionally post his stuff. Supposedly the sticking points are that the Magic don't want Earl Watson's contract and they don't want to give up JJ and a first rounder, which I believe I read somewhere that Otis basically said or hinted at the same exact thing.

I mean the trade makes sense, it benefits both teams. The Magic lose a little depth, but gain some back with Watson and it gives them the ability to go after Gerald Wallace with the cap space and then offer Darko a good deal over the cap(since we still have his bird rights), while not really losing much considering how crappy the Magic draft and JJ is a backup as long as Jameer is the starting PG.

Sorry if I got your hopes up, I don't really have a source and very well could be making this up.

Redick was effective with Tony Battie as the C. He's a good shooter and could be a nice little sidekick/bench player for the Sonics. Kevin Durant and Redick could do damage and also Green. GatorsowntheNCAA isn't making this up completely. I mean it sounds like he is, but I've heard of this rumor before he even posted it. I didn't know it also included a 1st round pick though. I don't see the Magic getting anyone that good anyways seeing as Gators said how the Magic draft and we should do good next season and it won't be that high. Redick is working hard on the offseason to improve his overall game. If the Sonics end up getting him, he should do solid. Earl Watson is another solid backup for the Magic to get with his defense. I know it doesn't make much sense for the Sonics, but at least you guys get something.[IMG]

I'm all for bringing Redick in, I have a similar mancrush on him like Casual. But honestly, I'd take anything instead of just losing Rashard.

You have to look at it that way. At least you are getting expiring contracts, a good shooter, and possibly a 1st round pick. I actually think that's too much.

Are you comparing JJ Redick to MJ?[IMG]
