How do you guys envision his future? Biens and Wright already ahead of him it seems like he's the odd man out. Looking back on the draft now, would you have still selected him?

Hard to envision his future since we saw so little from him. It'll be a lot easier to get a handle on his future if hes actually playing in the NBA this season, he seemed to improve a lot in the D League so thats a good sign for him.

I don't know if I'd change the pick if I could go back to that draft because who else was picked who did anything of relevance in his range? Might as well go with the athletic 7 footer with a sky hook.

I wanted Marcus Williams with that pick, and I'd still take him over POB. Last year's draft just wasn't very sexy. I mean, POB wouldn't have even sniffed the lottery this year. When he started talking about making cheesecake, I almost fell asleep in my chair. That's about the same reaction he's instilled all year -- basically POB has been an afterthought to GS fans so far. Maybe that will change, I dunno.

I can't refute anything that has been said. I remember watching him in the preseason and if he's one thing, it is long. He's quite tall and has a pretty decent reach I observed without looking at official measurements. With his mobility he could easily become a solid rebounder, shot blocker, and presence in the paint defensively. Um, actually physically for some reason he reminds me of a young Tim Duncan. But also is said to have had an adequate set of skills, however I have not seen anything of the like from him yet.

Basically, though, his game is limited by a basketball-less (or very small amount of basketball) mind (I like the term mind better than IQ) and a lack of overpowering competitiveness.

I think POB can be as effective as he wants to be. I think with all of the above listed he'll eventually settle in as a half-way decent backup big. I think that may fit fine behind Biedrins, Harrington, and Wright.

By the way here are POB's measurements in length and size. Patrick O'Bryant 6' 11'' tall w/o shoes 7' 0'' tall w/ shoes 249.0 weight 7’5.75 wingspan 9' 5'' standing reach. Well I couldn't find Duncan's wingspan or standing reach, maybe they aren't as big as POB's, but he is 6-11 260 right now.

I think guys need to be more patient with POB. He may not be a star in the future, but he could be an important piece of the puzzle. I know for sure that we can't last when the running game isn't working against bigger teams unless we have a capable center to keep the other team's biggest man in check.

If anything, I figure POB would be a step up from the likes of Adonal Foyle now and the future. Everyone knows that traditional centers just aren't given a chance in Nelson's lineups unless they move more like power forwards or small forwards. POB could be a nice mid-level talent center at worst, maybe something like a Mark Blount. I say just don't overpay the guy unless he's proven he could be the real deal long term and few can even match him. He's got good potential to be a nice defensive player and decent offensive player.

That bad stuff about cooking and baking is all out of context. He wasn't even the guy that brought the subject up, it was that draft announcer.

What a stupid question anyway. "So you want to be a Chef?" or something like that. I'm like wtf??? Why didn't he talk about his sweet 16 performance?

One emoticon describes EXACTLY how I feel towards POB.
