Durant & Green Sign, Debut Friday in Vegas <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SEATTLE -- Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, the second and fifth overall choices in last week's NBA draft, signed contracts with the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday. The 6-foot-9 Durant, just 18, is a forward who earned Associated Press college player of the year honors in his one season at Texas. He also won the Adolph Rupp Trophy, the Naismith Award and the Wooden Award. He will make $3.476 million as a rookie and $3.736 million in the second year. Green will earn $2.548 million in his first year and $2.739 million in the following one. The SuperSonics have one-year options for the players' third and fourth years. The 6-9 Green, also a forward, played three seasons at Georgetown, averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds. Green, 21, was named to the AP All-America third team in 2006-07 and, as a junior, helped the Hoyas make their first NCAA Final Four appearance since 1985. Both players are in Las Vegas for the NBA summer league and will make their professional debuts on Friday when the Sonics face the Dallas Mavericks.</div> Source: ESPN
Of course the first thing I think of is 'please don't get hurt'. On a related topic - anyone know how Swift is doing with his rehab? I thought I read a blurb yesterday in the Times that he's looking 'very impressive'. Any details?
Brian Robinson got some info the other day on him. It is believed that Swifty is benching 315 lbs and is weighin in around 270-280 lbs. I think he had a physical and his rehab was about 80%. Another month and he'll be cleared for 5 on 5.

Durant and Green just played their first summer league games. Durant: 30 minutes, 18 points (5-17 FG), 1 rebound, 0 assists Green: 29 minutes, 7 points (2-6 FG), 1 rebound, 0 assists Boxscore The game wasn't broadcasted where I am, but just going on the boxscores, it seems like a pretty disappointing outing on the whole, yet something almost expected from two overly anxious rookies with this much hype playing in their first NBA games.

It's too be expected that their first real game in awhile that they're a little rusty. Although Durant's 1 rebound isn't very promising. Impressive 14/10 from Hodge though, I hope we give him a chance.
both durant and green played real bad. durant started 0-7 and got d-wade treatment near the end. thats how he got most points green just got owned by ager...
lol it seems all the hyped up rookies did terrible. Durant seemed to shoot a lot of bricks from the stream I was watching and Green was decent. Of course Oden was just as bad, it seems they were all nervous, at least we should hope so for our teams sake.
It's going to take time and patience. More worrying for me was the fact Green committed eight fouls in only 29 minutes.

I was watching the game VIA webcast at work. Durant has some nice post moves (wow, big surprise huh?). It was really my first time watching him besides the highlights and various videos on Youtube. He went on a tear in the 2nd quarter scoring 13. The next game should be better. They've got their first game under their belt, so they should be getting a little more comfortable now.
KD ius going to have a target on his head from day one, especially if we don't add some veteran scoring help, so in a way a few rough shooting nights early may be a good thing so we can see how he responds.
Yeah, we really need another scorer to help K-Smoove. Hey, we have Damien Wilkins...(just joking). On a side note. I must say that Johan and Sene look like total garbage out there. Yes it's the first game, but both of them looked totally lost and uninterested. As far as leadership goes, I saw Durant getting into huddles with the guys and he even directed the players on some offensive posessions. He has a good court presence. Definitely good to see.
If you missed the Summer League game against the Mavericks http://nba-boss.streamos.com/wmedia/nba/nb...07_dalsea_2.asx
