Rodney Carney is an amazing athlete. Very Vince Carter like...

Marco never met a shot that he didn't like. And, he actually makes a lot of 'horrible' shots. Can't wait until he plays with actual PG, who can pass...

Nellie said Belinelli is ready to play TODAY in an NBA game. I agree! Oops, no Perovic.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering (from a Sixers fan), how do you guys feel about our young nuclues? I'm just wondering if you guys could tell me how Thaddeus Young, Jason Smith, Rodney Carney, and Louis Williams are playing?

That was a nasty dunk by Louis Williams late in the game.

Bellinelli can flat out gun. I think Baron will have an extra 3 assists a game with this kid shooting.

I like our nucleus and would have no problem if we did not trade for KG, Pau, etc. I am excited to see what Wright can do in SL. Young looked timid, but has a huge frame. Smith was impressive for a white guy. I gotta say I thought the warriors might draft him and I did not want that after going through Murphleavy, but I would be proud of him if we had him. Carney is phenominal and Williams had some nice plays...

POB seems to just hide in the shadows. I don't know if he just thinks he's guaranteed $$ anyway, or what, but you know, I think what you see is what you get with this guy. I just don't see any kind of spark WHATSOEVER. At times, he'll make a decent play. At times, he looks like a crap scrub. Most of the time, he looks like an undrafted invite, not a lottery pick. Powell is showing a lot more game than POB right now. Even Cusworth played better.

BTW, Pierre Pierce is pretty darn good. He's strong and plays a solid game at PG. A nice back-up for Baron, yeah? We should try to dump Sarunas to make room...

Speaking as a die hard Iowa Hawkeye fan, I don't want Pierce any where near the Warriors. Two big reasons:

    1) His basketball IQ is just about as low as Pietrus'. Like Pietrus, Pierce has absolutely no sense of the rhythm of the game. He'll jack up a three when they need to run the clock out, he'll drive the lane when you need a three, and he'll pick up stupid fouls going for steals when you don't want anyone to foul. He drove me nuts for three years when he was on the Hawks.

    2) The bigger problem is that he's a very poor character guy. Steve Alford gave him chance after chance while he was at Iowa and he kept screwing up. Alford's lenient treatment of Pierce is part of the reason why Iowa fans were happy to see Alford leave. Pierce had repeated problems with the law including a couple of assaults on his ex-girlfriend. The last of which, he drove from Iowa City to Des Moines (about a two or three hour drive) to assault her.

His wikipedia entry pretty much sums it up:
    Pierre Pierce Legal Troubles

Does anybody know why Lasme isn't playing?

The keepers seem to be Bailey and Pierce from what I have seen in the first game and the box score of the second game.

ooohhhh --- okay, I changed my mind. Thanks for the info. We don't need any character issues on this team. We will need to figure out the back-up point, though, assuming Monta stays at the SG. I guess it's Sarunas until we find something better. I like Saruas a lot, but Nellie refuses to play him. I think Belly can play some point at times, too, though.

In watching the first two games i dont know if i see anyone that is nonroster all ready that i really want.... i guess you could bring pierce to camp and let him muscle and work ellis a bit. Bailey doesnt do much for me and at the age of 30 i would rather fill a roster spot with at least potential. I have been watching my boy Heath over in seattle and he has been running the point. If he doesnt make get an offer to camp with seattle i hope we bring him in. With Seattle situation at guard i would think they would try and retain him. He has had some ball handling issues.... carries.... but has penetrated very well setting team mates up. He is a lights out shooter though he has not shown it yet.

I do have to say Marco is impressive ..... he is hitting a lot of these shots with defenders closing and in his face and still letting em fly. I notice he doesnt get much rim on his shots,,,, just pure.... sort of reminds me of peja's touch.

Powell did have some moments as well as AZ...but i almost consider them roster guys now.

He sprained his knee in the first game, no word on how bad it is but I doubt he'll play again in summer league as a precaution unless he gets back to 100% quickly.

Are you implying that Lasme has an almost guaranteed spot on the roster? But thanks about the news about his knee. Hopefully it isn't a big thing. I'd like to see him get a legit shot at making the roster.

Smart said he looked good in practices and he was drafted after all so I'd say he has a very good shot at making the roster. He'll at least be at training camp, which is where he'll really prove his worth.

Oh my god! Bellineli is killing! The crazy thing is he's not even trying! I mean Mullin really pulled something by picking this kid, he's by far the best player on the court and he's played against some pretty good competition.

I'm totally stunned, this kid is going to be GOOD.

If Belinelli shows this kind of scoring potency consistantly throughout the summer league, I think it makes a KG deal involving Monta that much more likely, with Marco being perhaps a more capable backup point, as well as a properly sized shooting guard.
