Whats wrong with this deal? I think it's decent. We got him for the minimum, and as bad as he can be, theres one thing he will never be. Murphleavy.

We still need to shore up PF and backup PG and with the Perovic and Cro signing, I think we have only two slots left for Powell, MP, Barnes and Lasme.
Can a s&t involve multiple players? Like maybe GS will do a s&t Pietrus + filler for <said player>, where we basically swap 2 for 1, and free up a roster space? I was thinking: s&t Pietrus + Sarunas for Udonis Haslem 2 for 1, we get a legit rebounder, they get a back-up PG and Piety, we also free up a roster space... this way we can keep Lasme, who I really want to see...
I don't think you can trade multiple players in a s&t as it's treated as one transaction. I would guess we are keeping MP for part of the MLE. With Croshere's signing, it looks like we got a rent-a-player in lieu of a future player. There's got to be some other deal in the works.
I never realized Croshere was 6'10 tall. He plays as if he was a clumsy 6'6. I often cringed when he got the ball on offense. At least the warriors got him for cheap.
Remember that Croshere konws Nelly's system. He's a great pickup at the minimum. At the very least he can go out there and foul a few hard fouls on other bigs, and he knows where to be on the court already.
Croshere? Why? Is he supposed to be like what we were supposed to get out of Zarko? I haven't heard about him doing anything since the time the Pacers went to the NBA finals where he must have had a couple of big games.

Let's see...If this is the roster based on who has a guaranteed contract PG: Baron/Sarunas SG: Monta/Marco SF: Jackson/Azubuike PF: Harrington/Wright/Croshere C: Biedrins/POB/Perovic/Foyle I see two spots left to make the 15 man roster. However I wouldn't be surprised if the team bought out the contracts of Sarunas, POB, or Foyle if the team wanted to make room for one more player. I am very anxious to see Lasme play. I hope he can make it passed the final cuts.

Again, it looks like what we have here (with Croshere's signing) is a veteran part-time player who's going to replalce someone younger. If the Warriors decide to go the veteran route, then MP and Barnes have a better chance to make the team than Lasme, Powell, Pierre Pierce or Toby Bailey. Who would you keep and who would you try to trade? KEEP?: MP (one year mini deal) Barnes (he can shoot the 3 and did well towards end of year and POs) Lasme (he looks like a tweener SF/PF) Powell (backup PF, played well during SL) Pierce (backup PG) Bailey (if he shows promise) TRADE?: Foyle (he'll be a big expiring contract in a year!) Cabbages (backup vet PG, but his style doesn't fit Nellie-ball) POB (has improved, but Nelson thinks he's still D-league material) MP (s&t deal?) Barnes (re-sign, lose to FA or s&t)
Golden State close to signing Croshere <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">While the Golden State Warriors won't be getting Kevin Garnett, they appear ready to sign free agent forward Austin Croshere, according to a league source. Croshere averaged 3.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.9 minutes for the Dallas Mavericks last season after spending his first nine years with the Indiana Pacers.</div> Source

From the summerleague games I thought they both showed something to get an extra look. I'd like to see Barnes come back, but that may hurt the team's ability to resign AB and Monta. Lasme and Powell would be nice to keep as well. Yeah, I'd like to see all of those guys on the Warriors bench this year. I think it really depends on how Sarunas, Pierce, and Bailey perform in preseason camps. If Sarunas drops to maybe second or third behind either of Pierce and Bailey, then maybe the team will buyout Sarunas' contract and keep one of the two SL invitees. Then maybe that makes the decision a little easier. Perhaps another route, though I don't know if this would work, is if we keep Lasme's "rights" then maybe we just send him to the D-League to develop, and then just try to sign him next season to be on the team, or maybe bring him up during the season, especially if there are injuries or if a trade is made to free up some roster spots. I have some doubts that Lasme would get much PT right away, unless if he blows people away in preseason. To give a direct answer, I'll just say, go with the Bruins like last year and keep Barnes and add Bailey(or I am still open to Pierce if he shows that he is the better player/fit), send Lasme to the D-League. Then maybe the team buys out Sarunas' contract and can add Powell or something like that.
MP - keep one year deal. Barnes - sign to whatever is left of the Midlevel to a 2 year .... team option.... or later gator. LAsme - absolutely keep ....love the d-league idea Powell - if he doesnt go to europe, retain him pierce - no need for a shoot first, shoot second, throw the ball away, shooting guard in a point guards body..... no thanks bailey - the only thing bailey did is have a few hot 3 point shooting days...in summer league.. we have no reason to keep him.... trade well foyle obvisouly any chance of dumping him is golden Sarunas - his expiring contract may prove to be the best value POB - i doubt we will just give up on him completely.... cant buy size and he has some skills....lesser players have made it long term careers in nba... package POB and roonie

It must be the primary reason we signed him. Actually, he may be better than advertised, but I can't see him and AL addressing our defense and rebounding needs in the front court. Second, Barnes signed today to the MLE that was remaining as you predicted. He knows the system and played major minutes last year in the rotation, so is a good signing. Next, the rumors that I've heard are Drew Gooden, Jason Williams and James Posey to address our needs. That means MP, POB, Cabbages, AL and draft picks as trade bait. Any other rumors? I want to keep Lasme and Powell, but Powell isn't a Nellie favorite for some reason so is doubtful. Pierce could make it, but he'll have to impress an awful lot because of his past. Bailey is another long shot to make it.

Last I heard some Italian teams had interest in him and the Warriors weren't responsive at all in contract talks. With the Croshere signing and Lasme probably having a good shot at making the team I doubt we bring him back.
