Yeah! <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lasme, a 6-8 forward, played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts before entering the NBA Draft. As a senior, Lasme was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.09 blocks per game, while shooting 61.1% (165-270 FG) from the field. He ranked second in the NCAA in blocks, 13th in field goal percentage and tied for 20th in rebounds, joining #1 overall pick Greg Oden as the only players in the nation to rank in the top-25 in three statistical categories. He recorded four triple-doubles during his senior campaign, joining Jason Kidd (Cal, 1993-94) and Michael Anderson (Drexel, 1985-86) as the only players in NCAA history to record four in a single season. As a junior, he was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and finished third in the NCAA in blocks (3.86 bpg).</div>
Foyle junior? I hope not..interesting how only he and Oden are the only two players to be ranked top 25 in three different statistics. I hope he fits in well into our system
why does it say that the terms of deal are not discussed due to team policy, when contracts are usually public? i don't get that. so how many years/$$ is the contract for??

<div class="quote_poster">Warriorfansnc93 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why did Kosta get such a large deal when he was a 2nd round pick last year?</div> I'm not sure exactly but since we didn't sign him immediately I don't think he was eligible for the standard contracts that drafted players get. I believe the terms of his deal were agreed to based on his buyout for his european team, so that was part of the reason it was much larger than most second round picks.
So does this mean Pietrus can't sign with the Warriors now? Unless we do a sign and trade or buy a player out? I believe we are at the max 15 roster now.
I hope Lasme plays more like a veteran Ben Wallace. If this guy is Foyle Jr. we're kinda screwed in terms of bench depth, basketball IQ, coordination and finesse around the hoop and hands to receive the pass. What good is getting the ball inside when the bozo inside drops it, fumbles it out of bounds, blows an easy dunk or shoots a layup over the backboard. Man I hope Lasme doesn't suck, but if he does, no biggie right? I just pray he's got smarts, strength, athleticism, and hands. I don't care about free throw shooting because we're screwed in that department anyway.

I don't think he'll be anything like Foyle.

You could have 4-5 outstanding games, but do little in the rest, or you couldn't replicate those types of feats against nba pro competition. I think Lasme has potential, I'm just saying there are some factors about him we may not know about. Like hands for instance. Plus, Jason Kidd is only one name, who is Michael Anderson? I think Lasme could be like a more raw version of Hakim Warrick, but with better shotblock timing and less alley oop offense or ability to create. Lasme would be like an undersized defensive guy.

He was #46....low $,yet provides the very stuff the rest of the roster does not (except Beans) he was #5 in the NCAA in Offensive boards. He might be our O-boards leader off 10 min a game Think sort of a Larry Smith/Dennis Robman sort, won't launch a 3 or be a "point F but will be a tough guy inside. I'd like to see him at PF when Jax is the SF. Size matters...if you are ordering a pizza. In the case of Lasme-results matter. Croshere will play like 6-7 and Lasme will play like 6-11.

And let's pretend I never mentioned conferences, because heck, Dunleavy Jr., came from one of the best conferences in college basketball, but he was just too slow, inconsistent, and weak in the nba to be a starter. I won't knock any player before I see them for a few years in the nba unless the feeling is instant bust. Lasme has nothing to lose as a 2nd rounder. No pressure. He's got some things that might translate to the pros and he's a nice addition because our team needs his abilities as a big player.
