QUOTE

Uros Slokar would have been nothing more than the 11th or 12th man on the Raptors this year – he could very well have been little more than inactive list material as a matter of fact – but hearing about him at the European championships makes one wonder if the Raptors didn't give up on him too soon.

There's also no reason to think Slokar wouldn't rather play in Moscow than sit the bench in Toronto but at 23, he's eight years younger than Maceo Baston, about the same size and would have been a lot cheaper.

I don't ever imagine Slokar being a rotation guy on a division championship team but given that no one knows how Baston fits into the plans here (behind Bosh, Bargnani, Nesterovic, Garbajosa and probably tied with Kris Humphries, I'd guess), you can make a case both ways.

All I know is Slokar is playing well in Spain and hopefully he can parlay that into a new NBA deal in a year if he wants.

Ahh, that's too bad he was a great character guy who I thought had some skills. This is probably better for him though.

I remember at the end of the season against the Pistons, and he had like 16 points or something, that was his altime high. If only he could play like that every game.

    I wish him luck oversea's!

He was young, a year in Europe should do him good. He is a smart player, but is still lacking some skills.

Slokar seems like a genuine person, I hope he can have a successful career in the pros.

Wish him luck. Slokar was a pretty funny guy,

We had pictures from his prom from some guy who knew Uros on JBB.

I'll always remember that and his suit which looked like it came straight out of the sears catalog, haha.

^ Yea, it was pretty cool. Slokar and Rasho were the jokers in the locker room. I'll mis him playing at garbage time.

Slokar was obviously a project. Europe always does good things, look at Anthony Parker.
