Damn, surely the guy wouldn't try to kill himself. Seriously, he's famous, rich, and a hell of a football player. What more could a person want and why would they want to leave that behind?

A person could want a lot more if you ask me. What good is fame, riches, and football if you don't have any other substance to fill the basic emotional human needs of life? It's sad that many of us are going to say well there goes TO trying to just get some attention again. Truth is...that might be exactly what it is. Most people who are depressed don't actually want to commit suicide, but want the attention that an attempted suicide would bring. A lot of suicides are accidental. They just wanted the attention but went too far with it. I've always thought that TO was loud and boisterous because he had some self-conscious issues. Most people who are that full of themselves and that desperate for attention are generally full of insecurities. It's sad that his insecurities have taken him this far.

Let's not jump to conclusions here before hearing the whole story.

This has definitely been an odd season for Owens - if it is a suicide attempt (and I agree with bakes on this - let's not jump to conclusions) then it would explain a lot. Then again, you know that ESPN and the other media outlets probably has a dedicated team of reporters to focus on Owens. I wouldn't be surprised if this is another TO thing being blown out of proportion.

    From the Houston Chronicle:
    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/chronicle/4218132.html

I find the 2nd to last paragraph to be very ironic...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Tuesday, Owens was involved in launching a national campaign for the National Alliance to End Abuse, an organization aimed at helping at-risk youngsters. He appeared at a high school Tuesday morning and was scheduled to visit others but had to cancel because of changes in the team's practice schedule.</div>

Deion Sanders was on the NFL network and said he talked to T.O and said T.O " laughed about a suicide attmept and said it was a reaction to his vitamin supplements and pain medication."

I guess it's hard for the spotlight to find you when you are hiding on the injury list. Looks like it was time for plan B.

If he did try to kill himself I sure hope the Cowboys can get him the proper help and I hope the media maybe should lay off of him a bit. Perhaps he can't handle all the coverage. A lot of people act differently around crowds or other people and then on the inside they could be hurting or are a totally different person. TO could be just like that.

Now there saying it's not a suicide attempt and expect TO to deny but the fact of the matter is we're not going to get the entire truth of this and it's going to be a very vague response probably from TO and anyone associated with him.

All reports say that there was a girl with him trying to get pills out of his mouth or trying to make him throw up maybe. This story is very shocking. Even all the news channel are covering it.

This is no joking matter. Even having a reaction to medication is a serious matter and it can harm you very badly. So statements like the above really have no place in a talk about a person possibly trying to kill himself. This isn't about TO the football player it's about Terrell Owens the person.

I don't think the media is going to back off of a possible Owens suicide attempt. That just makes him a more attractive subject to them. There is going to be a lot of speculation about if it was a real attempt and if so, then why. The bottom line is that Owens has no one to blame for the media circus but himself. He created it with his behavior.

Exactly. Find the real story first, then if it is true, treat him like a person and forget about the Cowboys or football.

Thats the problem. The "girl" was his publicist and she is the only one talking so far. Owens is out of the hospital. He was scheduled for a press conference at 12:30 in front of his house, but has changed it to 2:30 at Valley Ranch instead.

I just heard that on the radio as well. What I don't get is how a hopital could allow a patient who is "suicidal" to leave within just a few hours?

My cousin tried to kill herself not to long ago and she was allowed to leave fairly early. I believe she stayed the night and left right after that.

    So it's not unheard of.

It's tough to hold someone against their will. If Terrell is now saying that he doesn't feel like hurting himself or hurting anyone else, there may not be much that they can do unless someone close to him is willing to take out a mental inquest warrent.

I'm not sure the entire details but they did list her mental state as "unstable" and released her probably because she wanted to leave.

Exactly what I would expect from an Eagles fan. You were probably one of the jerks who cheered when Michael Irvin broke him neck and his career was ended. Philly fans are absolutely lame.
