I'm starting this thread as a place for any and all Giants fans who are tired of Barry Bonds, and wish not to see him playing left field forSan Francisconext year.
Re: Official It's time for the Giants to move on. They aren't going to win many games the next two years, and if they resign him to another contract where he makes 10+ million a year, they might not win for another five years. It's been a little while since they have won anything. They need to improve this team, and having Bonds here isn't going to make them a better team.

Re: Official Ridiculous. San Francisco was lucky they were able to grab Barry out of Pittsburgh and enjoy some of the most terrific baseball ever witnessed. The Giants organization is really bad at acquiring talent that meshes, so Barry's the least of their troubles. I think moving him, or letting him go, will only make the Giants irrelevant in MLB: not only will they still suck, but they'll be missing the best player of our generation and the most polarizing figure in baseball history.
Re: Official He was the best player of our generation, butnow, he isn't. And furthurmore, he doesn't conduct himself in the sort of way an old veteran has to if he wants to be kept around for sentimentality's sake.

Re: Official It's more of a money crunch for the Giants than anything else. Unless Bonds is going to play for them at a cheap cost, he's not going to have any protection in the lineup. If they let him go, they could use the money they were going to spend on him on two different players. And they would get younger (assuming Sabean is actually telling the truth this time about that).
