I'm unsure what six players he thinks are going to be grumbling if they don't get contract extensions... you've got Davis, Ellis, Biedrins, then who? Maybe Jackson? I dunno.</p> In any case, these guys are equally aware that this is no longer a franchise that it's particularly easy to get money out of, but it's also one of the youngest and most exciting in the league. Truthfully, I think Mullin realizes that this team would in it's prime cost more than he can spend, so he's very deftly positioned it to continue being great with more traditional players in the post-nelson era. A starting five of Ellis, Belinelli, Jackson, Wright, and Biedrins is a team that could play in whatever style Keith Smart would want to put out there.</p>
Belli-Jackson-Wright need to show they won't be way inferior to every matchup as rebounders.</p> </p> Those guys can be part of a real nice team-down the road-but would need to develop stuff they really have yet to START to do. Don't count out our OTHER players...or what any given player might fetch in trade.</p>
Biedrins Wright Sjax Belinelli Baron Davis Rebounding from the perimeter sounds pretty weak, but the rebounding potential of Wright and Biedrins sounds really good as long as both can stay out of foul trouble. I doubt Wright will play PF though... I mean why the heck did we get Croshere? It could be that Nelson just wants to play power forwards that can spot up for threes or he'll put Sjax/Harrington at the four and make all other bigger players play center. I'm convinced at some point we have to do better than Don Nelson because his style only gets you so far. If we've got the big man talent, we have to do another style of play that mixes the running game up with a traditional half court game which requires less desperation threes and guys trying to make something out of nothing. But we've only been to the playoffs once and we're kind of starting over or we haven't even begun, so Nelson it is... for now.</p> If we get our guys nba ready and some of them into leaders and stars, the coach won't have to do much but let the leaders of their team run their game, so long as it is a team game and not a Steve Francis or Allen Iverson game.</p>
Bellini is better than Monta? I think not. I look at this as a year that Ellis truly becomes the teams leading scorer

Is Raja Bell of the Suns better than Leandrinho Barbosa? They both got different roles and its not who starts, but who finishes and comes in at the right times. You're just jumping to conclusions over a suggested lineup. Did you ask yourself who backs up Baron Davis off the bench now that we got rid of Sarunas J? Who is the best weapon off the bench? Do you know the Warriors and their bench last year? You have to have some sort of spark plug on offense. Frankly, I'd rather use a Euroball seasoned rook Belinelli in the spot up three point shooting role as a starter because Monta Ellis is not a good three point shooter as of now. It doesn't matter if the guy is a leading scorer because of transition points and points of turnovers, the starting team has to fit and match up. F'n A.I. can be the Nuggets leading scorer, but it doesn't apply to team wins if the other 4 players aren't being utilized as a cohesive unit nor are they keeping in check with their size matchups. I would hate to see Baron Davis drive in the lane and kick out to a guy who hasn't found consistent range yet and in addition have nobody off the bench that can drive the way Monta Ellis does. It would also suck if teams start figuring out Monta Ellis and how his tendencies on offense are and what they can do to him on offense being light weight and short for shooting guard position. </p> Somebody this season needs to give Baron a rest and so far that best bet is Monta Ellis. Don't start him, you save him for whenever Baron needs rest and you get a weapon that no opposing bench player can handle at both guard spots. That's exactly the way Barbosa is being used right now and he's not better than Raja Bell for certain things. </p>
