NFL: SAN DIEGO (1-1) at GREEN BAY (2-0)

Packers face major test against Chargers

San Diego (1-1) at Green Bay (2-0) Sunday 1:00 pm EDT

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Wins over the PhiladelphiaEagles and New York Giants have the Green Bay Packers off totheir best start in six years.

But this week could go a long way in determining if the Packersare for real as they face a major test Sunday when they host theSan Diego Chargers.

Last week, Brett Favre picked apart the Giants' poroussecondary to become the winningest quarterback in NFL history.Favre tossed three touchdown passes in the second half of thePackers' 35-13 win to record his 149th career victory and passHall of Famer John Elway.

Favre also moved closer to another prestiguous NFL mark. Thethree TDs gave him 417 for his career, leaving him just threeshy of Dan Marino's record.

Green Bay started 0-2 last season and did not get its second winuntil Week Six.

But Favre and the Packers figure to have a tougher timeagainst the Chargers, who could be in an angry mood aftergetting embarrassed by the New England Patriots, 38-14.

The Chargers were a league-best 14-2 last season, buttheir high-powered offense has yet to get untracked under newcoach Norv Turner. They struggled to beat the Chicago Bears,14-3, in their opener.

San Diego also is waiting for running back LaDanian Tomlinson tobreak out. After running for a league-best 1,815 yards lastyear and setting a single-season record with 31 rushingtouchdowns, Tomlinson has been nearly invisible in the Chargers'first two games this season.

He has been held in check by two of the league's best defenses, rushing for only 25 yards on 17 carries against the Bears and 43yards on 18 attempts against the Patriots.

The Chargers were held to 201 yards by New England and rank 29thin total offense.

San Diego will be looking to snap Green Bay's six-game winningstreak, dating to the end of last season. The Packers have theNFL's second-longest active winning streak, behind only thedefending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts, who have wonseven in a row.
