Okay, he was a whipping boy for '06-07, probably because Nellie was not the coach when he was picked. But it looks like POB is coming around. I think he'll be a contributor this year. If the officiating at last night's game is the same as a regular season game, there's hope because POB challenged some shots without fouling which is huge for a big man in the NBA. Just having a big guy who can challenge shots in the lane will lead to misses and fast breaks the other way. Its very early but the reports and what I saw last night give me some hope.

Well this format can't last forever guys, so no worries. It's temporary like they said. I'm looking forward to a vBulletin style interface one day and also with lighter colors like if you were looking at personal e-mail web service. White on black background really screws with the eyes because of the positive/negative effect

BTW, glad to see POB having another solid game. If he's the real deal, we got a great backup center that could possibly start some day. He's not half bad if we're not paying attention to only statistics. He's got some good court awareness, great set of hands, and he's exhibiting a lot of what made him successful during that one college year. Like Biedrins, he needs more strength, though. POB might prove some of us wrong and that he was really a late bloomer and it was all about confidence in unlocking his natural ability to play center.

Saw a photo of him today in a local paper; he just looks more mature, more focused.

I hope he pans out. I'm almost positive that you do not cut a guy loose (9th pick and by current GM) after just a year and a half. At least he's not a stiff like Stromile Swift (look I can dunk and walk at the same time!)

CR2 I think I can change the background for you right now. If you can give me the color code you want off this chart.

Mel created a new layout for the site so it's not as squashed looking. I'll try to get a screenshot of it posted this weekend so you can see the changes he made. The programmers will be implementing it and hopefully it's done before the start of the regular season.

I hate the microsoft word looking tools on top of the reply screens. Can you do anything about that shape? I just want my old JBB board back. I could care less about the name. I love the people and the format of the old board. The only thing that has changed is the name and format. What I DO like about this format is how you have the thread and then you can see the other threads instead of going back to the previous page...

The microsoft looking toolbar is there to bold, change text size, color, post links, images etc. This new site allows people to use actual HTML code in their posts or cut and paste HTML code from other sites. It's actually an enhancement over what we had at JBB. Maybe we can have an option for a hide menu for people not interested in using those features.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread with the suggestions.

As for POB, I've been very impressed with his passing and court vision in the high-post. I had no idea he knew how to make plays with passes. He zipped one pass from the top of the circle to Buike on the back door cut. It was Steve Nash-esque in the angle, accuracy and hitting Buike in stride.

Thanks Shape! How about, make it look like this? I would like white background page with blue trim and bluish grays. Plus, I know you mentioned it already, but it would be nice to have the page stretch out to edges of the browser with at least 20 or so pixels worth of space between thte left and right edges of the browser..

Also, maybe the quote area should be italicized? I think maybe some people might find it hard to read.... For some reason the quote area doesn't look as good as the JBB one, but I can't remember why... Maybe because of additional background colors or something on this current page. Maybe since it is in a box already, we should just leave the background pure white. It's kind of a shock to my eyes to see text on so many different backgrounds, especially when it changes like black on light colored backgrounds and then suddenly to white text on colored backgrounds. It sort of drives my eyes crazy if that is looked at more than once. It's okay for the top header of the entire page to have that, but for the title of every post message box, it might be awkward sometimes..

Ok I'll see what I can do. What about the background the text is on? You mentioned black on white is hard on the eyes, what color would you like for that?

Actually black text on white is the best way to go. So maybe for the quote area, make it so there is no white text on black background.

Also, I changed my mind about white text on the blue background on every post message at the top bar. Since there is not much text there, it looks good. But for quoting other people's posts, we'll often have to see a lot of white text on black backgrounds which is shocking to my eyes. I don't know if others feel the same way though.

Ok. I'll see if we can fix the default color scheme on the quotes then. Maybe having it black on grey for the entire quote would work better?

I'm not sure how it would look. Maybe play around with it. I was thinking if we had a quote where it was just a line box around the entire quote and we make the "Quoting xxxxxx" text black on white. I really don't like having too much gray for the writing content because I think it doesn't need it. The black and gray line pretty much encapuslates the quotation from the reply text message.

Also, is there a way to do away with white text on yellow background? I know gold is part of the Warriors color scheme but it's so difficult to work with that color that even the nba.com warriors website doesn't use it much, unless it is black text on yellow background.

Thanks Shape! And sorry if I'm hurting some guy's feelings if they spent a lot of time choosing the current colors. I'm just trying to give honest suggestions in the critique.

You know, its not so bad once you get used to it. I guess I just stayed away because I felt like we were invading on some other forum's space and we were going to be outsiders or something. Its nice to see everyone though...

I agree with CR2's suggestion about making the site widescreen. Right now it's like it's in 4:3 ratio.

    As for the positives:

The changing of the background helped. It is easier on the eyes.

I like the larger avatar and more sig space being provided.

Here's the screenshot of how the main team forum will look. Mel tried to make it look similar to JBB as much as possible.

    http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=l...eslakersru9.jpg

We might make the standings, roster stuff on the side Tabs later on and use that area for something else like live scoreboard. Still brainstorming ideas.

I'll pass CR2's suggestions on to Mel so he can get a mock up on the look for the posting within a thread. Thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming!

POB looks like he can be a solid back up. Looks like sending him back to the D-league again and again was a good chioce. Warriors look great! 3 more weeks
