Ripped From Here: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/...flmeet0329.html * Spiking the ball or throwing the ball downfield after a play will result in a five yard penalty. This rule is not enforced in the end zone or if the player is out of bounds. Other notable proposals and modifications made Wednesday included: ? Increasing the game-day roster to 47 from 45 failed in a 17-15 vote, primarily because of concerns some teams may not have enough healthy players and because it could change the makeup and the development of a club's final few roster spots. ? Injury reports will be modified, with a player's availability for game day being listed only once during the week instead of on three different occasions. ? Instant replay, which was made permanent on Tuesday, also permanently includes reviewing down-by-contact calls and reduces the referees' maximum review time from 90 seconds to 60 seconds. ? Also to speed up the game, penalties no longer will be called for unintentional touching of a forward pass by an interior lineman. ? The rule penalizing teams for excessive crowd noise, which hasn't been called with any regularity in recent years, was abolished. ? On potential scoring plays by airborne ball carriers near the pylons, players must make sure the ball crosses the pylon - and not just a part of his body - for a touchdown to be good.
Good. Maybe, it will keep these divas playing WR from celebrating every little thing...its not like this is the NBA. And Fantasy football just got trickier Good riddance to this stupid rule. Possibly the best change made this year. Who put this rule in? Captain obvious.
So the goalline is no longer a plane that extends forever? What will the announcers find to talk about now?

* Spiking the ball or throwing the ball downfield after a play will result in a five yard penalty. This rule is not enforced in the end zone or if the player is out of bounds. The endzone OK, out of bounds makes no sense. Maybe the league should let the opposing team mete out the punishment for spiking on their side of the field. ? The rule penalizing teams for excessive crowd noise, which hasn't been called with any regularity in recent years, was abolished. Good Riddance. Never understood the rationale anyway. ? Also to speed up the game, penalties no longer will be called for unintentional touching of a forward pass by an interior lineman. This goes hand in hand with the unintentional fumble while trying to not throw a forward pass (therefore it is ruled an incomplete pass), and the unintentional use of a convict driven snowblower while attempting a field goal.

Metrodome staff would intentionally position speakers near the visiting sidelines and turn the volume up during defensive stands. The effect was to make the 'stadium' sound louder. BTW, stadium is used in quotes because the dome barely qualifies.
