Good for him - it would be tempting to bring back Ricky for his pure talent, but with the direction the NFL is going, and with so many players demonstrating the need for character checks, this is the right move.
I agree. Ricky has to be considered a lost cause at this point. In fact, I am in favor of all of us putting in $5 and seeing who can guess the closest date to his next failed test. I am almost always enthusiastic about forgiving and extending a second chace to someone; but at this point enough has become enough. It's a shame. Ricky was a great RB.
The article mentions how Zach T feels about the whole thing; I pretty much feel the same. I do like the idea of KC's "drug pot". Ricky allegedly was tested 10x per month while in the CFL and did not fail. Yet, he comes back south and is preparing to return to the NFL and he fails. Does this make Ricky the Floyd Landis of the NFL or does testing vary by location? Insert joke about socialized medicine here.
